Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy Receives The Prestigious Homi Bhabha Fellowship Award

rajuDr. Raju Narayana Swamy, a bureaucrat of the Kerala cadre of the IAS has been awarded the prestigious Homi Bhabha Fellowship. Swamy, holds a B. Tech in computer science and engineering from IIT Madras and is the all India topper of the 1991 batch of the IAS.

He is an author of 25 books and a winner of the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award. Dr Swamy also has a post graduate certificate in Cyber Law, a PG Diploma in Environmental Law and a PG Diploma in Urban Environmental Management and Law from National Law University Delhi. He has presented papers in a number of national and international conferences and has published more than 100 papers in journals of repute. Dr Swamy was recently in France to attend a training programme on Fighting Corruption organized at ENA, Paris. Popularly known as Kerala's anti-corruption crusader, Dr. Swamy was one of the three officers handpicked for the Operation Munnar in 2007, which saw a number of unauthorized resorts being pulled down. Under the fellowship, Dr. Swamy will work in the area of Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics. With the receipt of the Homi Bhabha Fellowship, Swamy will join an elite list of fellows including luminaries like Thanu Padmanabhan. 

The Homi Bhabha Fellowships Council was established in 1966 by Tata Trusts -- the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and the J.R.D. Tata trust, in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.

Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy’s academic excellence is a dream come true story in which he won First Rank in every exam he appeared. The 1991 IAS topper is a State First Rank holder in the Secondary School Examination and All India Topper in B. Tech - Computer Science from IIT Madras. The papers which Dr. Swamy presented in various National as well as International academic seminars and conferences are as varied as  e-governance, to nanotechnology. Dr. Swamy is also a prolific writer who has authored 25 books and has won innumerable awards. As a meritorious IAS officer, he has earned reputation as an Anti-corruption crusader for his ceaseless fight to uphold his principles throughout his career as a bureaucrat. 
 Dr. Swamy, the distinguished Alumni of St Berchmans, arrived in Kuwait as the chief guest for the 16thAnnual Day Celebration of Alumni Association of St. Berchmans College - Kuwait chapter. Trophies and certificates were distributed to the winners of competitions conducted by St. Berchmans - Kuwait chapter. He conducted lectures and interactive sessions for senior students of various Indian Schools in Kuwait.  Dr. Swamy’s visit benefited the student community in Kuwait. He will return on Monday 2nd December to resume his duties.
