Assam’s Golap Rabha won Mr World 2018 under the World Fitness Federation (WFF)-World Body Building Federation (WBBF) Amber Prix championships held in Europe’s Lithuania on 19 and 21 October

WFF is an international bodybuilding organisation formed in 1968.

As per a report published in the Telegraph, 35-year-old Rabha clinched a gold medal in all the three categories he participated i.e. Men's Pro World Bodybuilding, Men Muscle Model, and Pro Mr. World 80k.

“I am feeling amazing being in the international stage and competing with the world class bodybuilders. The best is when the foreigners were coming to us for photos and asking our numbers to come to India for training under us," the Telegraph quoted Rabha as saying.

Rabha runs a gym and trains six hours a day and he took up bodybuilding in 2003 under the guidance of Jiten Kalita, a body builder at Boko in Kamrup district.

Rabha has been achiever all along, he won the Junior Mr Assam and Junior Mr Kamrup in 2008. Apart from this, he also won the title of Mr India in 2017 and 2018 and Mr Asia 2018!

He has singlehandedly brought laurels to his humble village Boko and the country as a whole.

In a statement,  Assam Chief Minister Sonowal  said Rabha’s feat in the WFF-WBBF championship had made the state proud and lent fresh momentum to bodybuilding as a sports discipline in the state.

Sonowal said Rabha had proved with his success that a humble background can never be an obstacle to genuine talents from registering remarkable accomplishments.
