 S. SINDHU RAMESH 

     An accomplished , talented singer with 38 successful years in Music.

                                               

thumpnailsindhu 2Mrs.Sindhu  Ramesh  started learning Carnatic music when she was in 2ndstd under the guidance of Mr. Rajan Lal (uncle of Music director Shareth).She also stepped into the world of stage performancesduring that time with a light music competition and secured first place.

There was no looking back since then. She did her classical Arangetram at the age of 10 at Kollam Anandhavalliswaram temple. Along side she started singing for Ganamela with Mr. Idava Basheer.

 1She became an AIR (All India Radio) artist while in 5th standard. These extra activities never caused a break to her classical music training. She continued her classical music training under various legends such as Guru Venkatachalam, Guru Irinjalakuda Vijayakumar and Professor Omanakuty Teacher.

She was a permanent Singer in music troupes “Singing Birds”, “Sithara” and “Voice of Youth” during her school days. She performed for more than 2000 shows in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and was blessed with opportunity to sing with famous playback singers such as K.G. Marcose, P.Jayachandran, Unnimenon, Venugopal, M.G. 2Sreekumar. Sreekanth, and Pandalam Balan. She also had the debut opportunity to sing for Malayalam Movie“VelichamillathaVeedu” then.

She got an opportunity to sing with Dr. K.J. Yesudas during her B.A in music and since then she was a permanent singer with him for various shows across the globe for many years.

Her first visit to Kuwait was in 1988 with Dr. K J Yesudas. She visited all Middle east countries, Canada, South Africa, America, Singapore and Malaysia with him for stage performances. She was parallelly singing track for various singers for Malayalam and Tamil 3movies. Then she got opportunities to sing for Malayalam movies. She sung many songs in her versatile voice and contributed many ever-memorable songs.

She moved to Chennai in 1992 and  became an A Grade Artist in All India Radio, Chennai. She was selected for a song for a Tamil movie during that period marking her entry into Tamil Cinema.

 She was also a member of Laxman Sruthy and GangaiAmaran Orchestra nearly for 3 years. This gave her an 4opportunity to sing with Legends like T.M. Soundararajan, GangaiAmaran, S.P. Bala subramaniyam, Mano, Deepan Chakravathy, S.N. Surendar, and Malasiya Vasudevan.

Then continued for many filims for Ilayaraja, then with many music directors like  Deva, Vidyasagar, Sirpi, S.A. Rajkumar, T.Rajendran, Adithyan, M.M. Keeravani, M.S. Viswanthan .

 5Sindhu Ramesh – born and brought up in Kollam with parents, P.S. Shanmugham Pillai (actor) and Indira S. Pillai along with her brothers Nandhakumar and Edhukumar.

 Sindhu  lent her voice for many Telugu movies as well as a song in Kannada and one for Hindi film. She got married to S.V. Ramesh in 1998 and moved to Kuwait in 2002. S.V Ramesh is working with M.H Al Shaya Co and the couple is blessed with two Children, Hariharan and Harikrishnan. Sindhu  currently passing her knowledge in music to next generation through her Music institution “Sree Hari School of Music” since 2004 onward. She is also a faculty in Music at ICSK.

--She got First Prize in 2nd std and reeived the trophy from famous Actor Jayan.

--Bestowed with the Tamil Nadu Cine Critic Award for Best Singer in the year 1988.

-- Kerala Television Drama Best Singer Award in the year 1999.

--A Grade Artist in All India Radio

       --Awarded as “Gana Sudha” for Classical Vocal by SABHA, Kuwait in 2014

         --Honored at Puraskara Sandhya by KT Muhammad Paddanavedi, Kuwait in 2016.

--- Awarded with “Nadasree Puraskaram” by Ragamaliga, Kuwait in 2018.

     --Participated in UFM Kuwait Radio Programme.

-- Patron of “BASS” - Bharatheeya Sangeetha Sabha from 2017 till date.

  --Advisory Board Member of “KISWA” - Kuwait Indian Singers Welfare Association.

She has more than 525 songs under her credit for Indian Cinema

--Over 2000 songs for Devotional and music Albums in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Baduga (Tribal language of Ootty)
