With the gold price touching a four-year low in the international market, the price of the yellow metal continues to fall in domestic market.

On Saturday, the price fell by Rs 320 per sovereign to Rs 19,680.

The new price trend is viewed as the result of the US dollar gaining strength.

In the wake of the strengthening of the US economy, the investors are preferring the stock market to gold . Further, the low demand for the metal in Asian markets contributed to the price trend.

The silver price also declined by Rs 1,700 a kg to Rs 36,150.
