Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur inaugurates Lu & Lu Hypermarket’s Food Fiesta 2013

The Food Fiesta — one of the biggest calendar events held every year by Lu & Lu Hypermarket was inaugurated on the evening of Thursday, 18 April, by Starplus Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur.

With his natural talent for cooking, Chef Kunal has influenced the popularity of Indian Cuisine and taken it to great heights.

Chef Kunal follows many of the biggest names in the Indian culinary world who were hosted by the hypermarket such as Chef Sanjeev Kapoor,  Chef Noushad and Chef Laxmi Nayar to name a few, who graced previous Food Fiestas with their presence.

Chef Kunal opened the ceremony with a bang to an enthusiastic audience. During a brief press conference, the chef spoke of his passion for food. “Food is something I love,” he said, “I experience a great sense of passion for cooking.”

The Gourmet Guru went on to inaugurate the event by cutting and distributing a cake, as well as cutting of the biggest burger in Kuwait. After rounds through the hypermarket and mingling with excited fans, the master chef rolled up his sleeves to treat the audience to a live cooking demo of three simple, delicious recipes, followed by the judging of 30 dishes prepared by contestants for the ‘WOW The Master Chef Contest’.

The food festival, which will run until Saturday, 4 May, 2013 is scheduled to witness a variety of exciting events each day, the highlight of which is a  line-up of cooking competitions that will be held throughout the promotion period.

Competitions on different cuisines are being held throughout the fiesta period. Italian and continental dishes will be judged at Lu & Lu Hypermarket on 21 April, followed by Arabic food on 22 April, Filipino food on 23 April, Chinese food on 28 April, Indian food on 29 April and Desserts on 30 April. Live cooking competitions are scheduled for 24 April and 1 May. Everyone is invited to celebrate with Lu & Lu and avail of this unique opportunity.
