Jagathy back on stage after two years

   Jagathy
Cine actor Jagathy Sreekumar appeared in a public programme after a gap of two years.

He shared stage with children suffering from by brittle bone disease (Osteogenesis imperfecta), at a gathering organised by a social organisation, Amrita Varshini.

Though remained silent throughout the event, the actor was seemingly enjoying the one-hour stint with children, shaking hands with them and posing for photographs. Accompanied by his daughter Parvathy, son Rajkumar and grandson Joju, Jagathy was brought in a wheelchair for the event held at Kovalam.

The children gave them a hearty welcome by offering flowers. He later inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Jagathy, who was seriously injured in an accident at Kozhikode in 2012, was confined to home after getting discharged from the hospital.

His relatives, who attended the gathering, said such occasions were a much-needed relief for the actor, which could rejuvenate him.

Wishing that the actor could make a speedy comeback to the big screen, the children performed dance and songs before him. Jagathy appreciated their efforts by shaking hands with them and smiling at them.

A short film on those suffering from brittle bone disease, 'The Walking Mind' was screened on the occasion.

Nearly 65 persons, including music director M Jayachandran and magician Gopinath Muthukad, attended.
