Indian Business and Professional Council, Kuwait held it’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 11th June 2019 at Costa Del Sol Hotel.

IBPC ELECTIONSThe evening began with a formal welcome speech by Mr. Anant Kapadia, outgoing Vice-Chairman of IBPC who welcomed the members and reminisced the events conducted by IBPC during the past two years.

Mr. Soly Mathew, outgoing Treasurer then tabled the Audited Financial Statements for the year 2017 and 2018. These were unanimously approved by the members.

Mr. Shivy Bhasin, outgoing Chairman then presided over the proceedings. Known for his wit and spontaneity, he recalled his experience being the Chairman of the Council and thanked the office bearers and members for their over-whelming support and IBPC ELECTIONScooperation during his tenure. This was followed by the announcement of the election results for the post of Vice-Chairman, Joint Secretary and Treasurer. The new office-bearers for the year 2019-2021 as declared were:
​Chairman​​​: Mr. Anant Kapadia
​Vice-Chairman (elect) ​: Mr. Gurvinder Singh (Choji) Lamba
​Secretary​​​: Mr. Deepak Agarwal
​Joint Secretary (elect)​: Mr. Soly Mathew
​Treasurer (elect)​​: Mr. Kaizar Shakir

He then called upon the new office bearers to say a few words accepting their position and responsibility.

IBPC ELECTIONSThe evening was yet to set in. The Audience was mesmerized by recital of euphonious melodies, poetic renditions and standup comedy performed by members in addition to performance by guest artists.

Members enjoyed the sumptuous delectable spread of buffet set up by the hotel.

A final vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Choji Lamba.

Indian Business and Professional Council, Kuwait has more than 150 members (Individuals and Corporates). It aims at providing opportunities for Indian businessmen and professionals to develop business and/or professional activities in Kuwait / India, promote trade and investment, promote building relations between Kuwait and India organizing meetings, seminars, functions, cultural events and activities which in the Council’s opinion benefit the Indian business and/or professional community of Kuwait at large.
