MEGA EVENT -TMA- SAMATHUVA PONGAL PROGRAM

Tamil Nadu Muslim Association (TMA),conducted a Grand Samathuva Pongal program on 09.02.2024 (Friday) from 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm on the premises of Khaitan Indian Community School.

The event began with a wonderful feast, where the Tamil diaspora residing in Kuwait, including social activists and other organizations participated in it enthusiastically.

Officially the program commenced with the recitation and translation, of the Noble Qur'an by Br. Muhammad Azharuddin at 2.15 pm. General Secretary of TMA Br. Mohamed Fayaz delivered the presidential address and presided over the event.

The former Principal of New Gulf Indian School, Dr.Prathap Felix addressed the gathering on the Importance of Communal Harmony, where he highlighted this aspect by adding that, “We who have come across the seas, should be aware that some of the media spew falsehood, we must live away from hatred, we must unite by love, become humanists and live with the spirit of equality irrespective of caste and creed.”

Enthralling the audience with their eloquent speeches on the topic, “what is a major hindrance to the development of the nation? Is it corruption or is it communalism? Is it Self Discipline? or Accumulating unlawful wealth?” Were debated by Br. Ramkumar Ramanathan, Br. Niaz, Br. Eng.Baskaran, Br. Salman, Br. Jameem and Br. Netaji. The keynote address was thereafter delivered by a special guest Br. V.S. Muhammed Ameen, from Tamil Nadu, the editor of Samarasam magazine, India.

An exhibition on Islamic life was organized. Simultaneously, an array of competitions were held for the children. exhibition on Islamic life were organized.

After a brief break, Br. V.S. Muhammed Ameen spoke on the theme of the event, which was Eradicate Hatred and unite by Love.

Every individual has different principles, theories and aspirations and our culture is to assimilate them and live as a pluralistic society. Then Br. Ameen beautifully responded to the audience's questions.

Special prizes were awarded for the essay competition conducted on the occasion of Samathuva Pongal Festival. Prizes were also distributed to the children who won the competitions.

Finally, the event concluded with the valedictory address delivered by Br. Abdul Wahhab, President of TMA. More than 400 people, including women and children, attended the event. The host of the event, Br. Zaheer convened in his classical Tamil style. Book stalls were arranged at the venue where the IFT books were sold along with an annual subscription of Samarasam magazine.
