IMA-Ladies Wing Organizes a Month Long Qur’an Campaign

1 1Indian Muslim Association-Ladies Wing an affiliate unit of the Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait, successfully completed a month-long Qur’an campaign from 26th Dec, 2024 to 24th Jan, 2025 under its central theme كان خُلُقُه القرآنَ, “The Character of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was the Qur’an”.

Inspired by the profound Hadith narrated by Ummul Momineen Ayesha (RA), where she described the character of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) as a living embodiment of the Qur’an. 

IMA-Ladies Wing, throughout the Campaign, sought to inspire individuals and communities to align their lives with Quranic morals and values, fostering a society rooted in the noble characteristics of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), which are profoundly outlined in the Holy Qur’an.

The Primary objective of this Campaign was to revive the Spiritual connection of the Muslim Ummah with the teachings of Qur’an. It emphasized not only the recitation of the Qur’an but also the importance of understanding its meaning and applying its wisdom in daily life. Special focus was placed on learning the Qur’an with Tajweed, ensuring both proper pronunciation and deeper understanding.

Throughout the Campaign, Members of Ladies Wing organized close neighborhood gatherings and conducted Door- to Door visits in their respective areas, sharing the essence of the Quranic teachings. This initiative was a heartfelt endeavor to rekindle the love for the Qur’an, encouraging individuals to embrace its teachings as a way of life and a source of light in their daily conduct.

Booklets, Pamphlets and stickers of Quranic reminders were distributed during the Campaign. Simultaneously, Video clips of Children were released on social media throughout the month under the theme: “The Man desired by the Qur’an”.

The Campaign was not only designed for the Public but it also aimed to enhance the ethical values of IMA members, encouraging them to fulfil their responsibilities towards community development with even greater dedication. To strengthen this aspect, the IMA-Ladies Wing invited a renowned scholar from India, Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan (Alima & Ph.D. in Child Psychology) to revive the teachings of Qur’an and Hadith.

She delivered an insightful lectures on parenting, the role of Women in Islam and the importance of community service, reminding attendees of their responsibilities in nurturing the Ummah.

“A Teachers Meet” was also organized with the Teachers of Qur’an Tafseer, Tajweed, Seerah and Hadith from different organizations in Kuwait such as IPC, IEC, ICK and others. Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan addressed the teachers and reminded them about their responsibilities towards the community. Nearly 25-30 teachers attended the session.

Various competitions were held during the Campaign such as Qur’an Hifz Competition, Essay writing Competition, Calligraphy Competition, Quiz Competitions and Exhibition on Models, Chart and Qur’an Journaling etc. followed by a prize distribution ceremony for the winners & runners in each competition at Masjid Al Kabeer in the Concluding Program.

Quran Hifz Competition was organized both for Women and Girls of age group 11Yrs to 23 Yrs. The Competition was held in 3 different areas of Kuwait Jaleeb Al-Shoyoukh , Salmiya and Mangaf. Nearly 34 women and 32 girls were participated in the competition. The winners were felicitated with Trophies and Certificates.

Essay Writing Competition was organized as well in English, Roman Urdu and Urdu language on the topic “The Man desired by the Qur’an”.

Calligraphy Competition was also organized for girls and Women and participants displayed beautiful Calligraphic talent and design; it was a challenging task for the Judges to select the winners.

A Quran Quiz was conducted at different locations in Kuwait. Winners of the Preliminary round participated in Final Quiz round on concluding day of the Qur’an Campaign at Masjid Al-Kabeer. Participants and audience appreciated the idea of reviving Qur’anic aspects through various competitions.

“A Quranic Exhibition” was organized on the Concluding day by “Pearls of Islam Team” a Youth Wing of girls under the patronage of IMA-Ladies Wing. Many Models, Charts and Qur’anic Journaling posters were prepared based upon the theme of different Quranic aspects and Surah from Qur’an. 

“The Concluding Program” of this Campaign was organized in Masjid Al-Kabeer on 24th Jan 2025, started with the recitation of Holy Qur’an followed by Guest speaker speeches. The Guest speakers were Mrs. Ameena Tamimi-A Kuwaiti Daiyya in Foreign relationship dept - Awqaf and Mrs. Sameena Malik - an Indian business woman.

Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan, the main speaker of the Concluding Program delivered a thought provoking speech on the topic “Qur’an-The path of Salvation for humanity”.

The Program was concluded with the heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by one of the executive members, making the end of a successful event. About 180-200 Women and Children attended the event.

The Final day event was telecasted on KTV-2 as well with an appreciation for the step taken by Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait.

IMA Kuwait, an Indian Socio-religious organization, operates under the patronage of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Kuwait. It focuses on providing platform for the spiritual and social enhancement of expatriates living in Kuwait through various programs and social gatherings. It looks forward to organizing more beneficial programs in the future, catering to the needs of the expatriate community, especially the Indian diaspora.
