BSK enthrals audience with Billava Chavadi 2025
The Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) hosted its grand annual cultural celebration, ‘Billava Chavadi 2025’, on 26 September 2025, at the Aspire Indian International School Auditorium in Abbasiya, leaving the audience thoroughly enthralled with a vibrant display of tradition, talent, and unity.
A major highlight of the evening was the Tulu comedy drama "Onchi Toopini", which kept the audience in splits with its witty storytelling and flawless performances. The event also witnessed the first-ever Ladies' Tiger Dance in Kuwait, a spectacular addition that received overwhelming appreciation from the crowd.
Guests were welcomed by the Bhajana team leading the procession through a beautifully decorated reception. The program commenced with Guru Pooja, followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India, and a prayer song rendered by Mr. Anil Poojary. The formal inauguration was carried out by BSK President Mr. Amarnath Suvarna, along with Chief Guest Mr. Raj Kumar (President, NRI Forum Karnataka, Bahrain), Mr. Dinesh Suvarna Rayee (renowned MC), Mr. Jithesh MP (President, Saradhi Kuwait), Mr. Karthik Kadekar and BSK Management Committee members.
The souvenir “Billava Bolpu” was released in a unique and traditional style with the support of the Bhajana team. In his welcome address, Mr. Amarnath Suvarna emphasized cultural unity and thanked the community for their continuous support.

The Guests from India and Bahrain were honoured for their valuable contributions to Tulu Nadu culture. In his keynote, the Chief Guest Mr. Raj Kumar spoke about the importance of unity and integrity, lauding the efforts of BSK in preserving and promoting cultural heritage abroad. BSK honoured 3 outstanding students, namely Sanskriti Poojary, Havish Kumar and Pranav Sudhir for their excellence in sports as they represented Kuwait during the CBSE sports tournaments. BSK also gave away scholarship to 4 deserving students.
The program featured various traditional and modern cultural performances by BSK members and their children. The segment titled "Tuluva Aisiri" included group dances and the much-applauded Tiger Dance. The dances were choreographed by Ms. Sudha Sandesh Amin, Ms. Kavya Prashanth, Ms. Sowmya Sukesh and Mr. Sukesh Madivala.
The drama "Onchi Thupini", written by Mr. Vikram Manchi and directed by Mr. Mahesh Poojary Polali was a crowd favourite, with lively performances from a cast of talented local artists and music direction by Mr. Karthik Kumar Kadekar. The team included, Mithun Vishwanath, Rajesh Kuckian, Sujith Kotian, Purander Manchi, Sukesh Madivala, Lydia Misquith, Harini Anish Kotian, Shithil Hegde, Sujeeth Amin, Sushith Kuckian, Sudhakar Poojary and Jagadeesh Poojary.
The seamless coordination of the event was credited to Cultural Secretaries Mr. Mahesh Poojary and Mr. Sudhakar Poojary, with technical and logistics support from the entire team. The evening was eloquently hosted by Mr. Dinesh Suvarna Rayee, Ms. Arushi Manoj Kumar, and Ms. Kushi Sandeep Kumar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary Mr. Prashanth Poojary, along with the raffle draw announcements and dinner served by M/s Sangeetha Restaurant.
