Writers’ Forum Kuwait’s enriching Monthly Meeting
Mr Baker of faraway Mahboula witnessed unusual weekend hustle bustle. Artisans of the Writers Forum Kuwait (WFK) beelined fellow member Anupama Chaturvedi's delightful abode.
Mrs Maimuna Chougle, the forums well loved president, opened the meeting. Sombrely, she broke the sad news of the demise of Sardar Gurbaksh Singh Dogra saheb - An erstwhile WFK member of long standing, a prolific writer, a champion of the forums activity. A two minute well deserved, respectful silence ensued.
The meeting then verved towards the artistic compositions of its members. The hostess rendered her delightful coming of age (takhallus) ghazal in her pleasant voice. Then Mr. Muzammil plunged into a farsi ghazal mesmerizing most present with the sweet, ever so mysterious (for all but two) sounds emanating from his mouth. Mr Yajuvendra epitomised the spirit of a contemporary poet with his metaphorical hindi poem on Diwali lights. Mrs Kalpana Shah, the true friend that she is, rendered her poem on friends and friendship, also in hindi. So too did the next attendee, Sabiha sahiba (recite in hindi/urdu). Pawan Singh ji impressed all with his thoughtful Punjabi ghazal….Yes, yes ghazals can be written and recited in all languages…. Join WFK to learn more 😊. Proud father Mohan Singhji, staunchly supported by begum sahiba Surinder, did justice to his daughter's profound english poem. Sayed Nazar Kadapawi saheb wove the challenging radeef 'disha' into his delightful urdu ghazal (Join WFK to…. 😀). The meeting ended with an outpouring of congratulations for the international special reference accorded to - 'Adab Daricha' (a recent work of Mrs Maimuna Chougle.. Another refreshing evening… You cant go wrong with tea and kachories… AndAnd… AndAnd…( Join WFK to…. 😀). Did I tell you.. Mr. Chaturvedi is also a gracious host
