TEF Kuwait Hosts Grand Musical Gala “Harmonic Horizons” Featuring Padma Bhushan K.S. Chitra
Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF), Kuwait, etched a memorable chapter in its cultural journey by successfully hosting the grand musical gala “Harmonic Horizons – A Festive Musical Gala”, headlined by the legendary playback singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Smt. K.S. Chitra. Held at the DPS Auditorium, Kuwait, the event drew an overwhelming response from the Tamil community and music enthusiasts, transforming the evening into a celebration of music, culture, and togetherness.
Organized as part of TEF Kuwait’s 26 Years of Excellence celebrations, the event stood as a reflection of the forum’s enduring commitment not only to professional development but also to cultural enrichment and strong community bonding among expatriate Tamils in Kuwait.
The program commenced on a traditional and dignified note with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu, setting a culturally reverent tone for the evening. This was complemented by a Thirukkural rendition and a Safety Moment, underlining TEF’s emphasis on values, responsibility, and awareness within the community.
Delivering the welcome address, Joint Treasurer Eng. Justine warmly greeted the gathering and set the stage for the evening’s proceedings. One of the key highlights of the pre-concert segment was the presentation of the Scholastic Achievers Awards, which recognized and encouraged academic excellence among students belonging to the TEF family, reinforcing the forum’s focus on education and youth empowerment.
The formal segment continued with the presentation of the TEF 2025 Year-End Report by Eng. Balasubramanian, General Secretary, who detailed the forum’s accomplishments, initiatives, and milestones achieved over the year. This was followed by the Financial Report presented by Eng. Arun Golden, Treasurer, providing transparency and insight into the organization’s financial stewardship.
In his Presidential Address, Mr. Raja, President, reflected on TEF’s inspiring journey, its core values, and the vision that guides the organization toward future growth and service to the community. The evening also featured the felicitation of the TEF 2025 Committee, acknowledging the dedication, teamwork, and tireless efforts of the outgoing office bearers. Subsequently, the TEF 2026 Committee Takeover Ceremony was conducted, symbolizing a smooth and well-structured transition of leadership.
At 6:00 PM, the atmosphere reached its crescendo with the commencement of the much-anticipated musical extravaganza “Harmonic Horizons”, marked by the ceremonial handover of the stage to the orchestra. The concert showcased a spellbinding performance by Smt. K.S. Chitra, whose timeless voice captivated the audience. She was accompanied by a talented ensemble of renowned artists including Nishad, Amruta, Roopa, and Sathya Prakash, along with a full orchestra. Together, they took the audience on a mesmerizing musical journey spanning classical melodies and contemporary Tamil compositions, leaving the hall echoing with applause and admiration.
As a gesture of appreciation, the TEF committee presented mementos to all the artists, honoring their exceptional performances and contribution to the success of the evening.
