Kuwait Tamil Sangam Celebrated 20th Year with Grand Morning “Pongal Saravedi 2026” at ICSK, Salmiya
Kuwait Tamil Sangam (KTS) marked a historic milestone with the grand celebration of its 20th Year Inaugural Function, “Pongal Saravedi 2026,” held on 16th January 2026 at ICSK Senior School, Salmiya. The vibrant morning event was attended by KTS members, well-wishers, and distinguished guests, bringing together the Tamil community in Kuwait to celebrate culture, tradition, and achievement.
The celebrations began with the arrival of Her Excellency Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, who inaugurated the event with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge, prosperity, and the bright journey of the Sangam over two decades. The Ambassador was briefed on the special significance of the Pongal festival and the milestones achieved by KTS over its 20-year journey of community service, cultural promotion, and social engagement.
The morning unfolded with a graceful Bharatanatyam performance by Swastika Academy Founder Dr. Vaishnavi and her talented student Miss Vishnu Nair, which captivated the audience and set a classical tone for the festivities. The program continued with addresses from the President, Mr. S. Ramadoss, Vice President, Mr. S. Chelladurai, and General Secretary, Mr. Rajnarayanan Desigan, who outlined the plans and vision of the 2025–2027 committee term, marking the beginning of the 20th-year celebrations.
A heartfelt tribute video honored the well-wishers and dedicated members who contributed to 19 years of unwavering service, followed by a Committee Introduction Audio-Visual presentation showcasing the new office bearers.

The cultural segment featured mesmerizing songs by Mrs. Shamala Devi, a much-applauded mimicry performance by KPY fame Mr. Satish, and a lively live stage act by renowned actor Mr. TSK, entertaining and engaging the audience throughout the morning.
In a special segment, KTS honored academic excellence with the Academic Distinction Awards (2024–2025) for students of Class X and XII, presented to the children of members who achieved over 90% in their examinations, celebrating scholastic achievement within the community.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Treasurer Mr. Prasanna Krishnan, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, performers, committee members, sponsors, and all participants who contributed to the success of the 20th-year celebration.
The morning ended with a sumptuous traditional banana leaf lunch, featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, catered by Grand Udhayam Restaurant, leaving participants with fond memories of a truly landmark celebration that beautifully blended tradition, culture, and community spirit.
