 IMA Kuwait Conducts Al Isra wal Mi'raj Program

3 11zonMuslim Ummah has been designated as “Khair-e-Ummah” (the Best of Nations) not for privilege, but for the sole purpose of Serving Humanity. the responsibility of this Ummah is to work for the welfare of all people—relieving Societal burdens, guiding Mankind toward Justice and liberating Humanity from all forms of Exploitation and Servitude, were the opening remarks of the Guest Speaker Professor Mohammad Saleem Engineer while addressing the gathering on the occasion of Jalsa Al-Isra Wal-Mi‘raj organized by Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait on Thursday, 15 January 2026, at Masjid Muzaini, Salmiya, Kuwait where more than 500 people attended the program showing a strong Community Engagement and Spiritual Enthusiasm.

The program was held under the supervision of Kuwait’s Foreign Relations Department and aimed to highlight the Spiritual, Moral & Civilizational lessons of the Historic Event of Isra wal Mi‘raj, while addressing contemporary Challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Master Abdul Rafe, followed by its Urdu translation, setting a deeply reflective and spiritual tone.

Scholarly Addresses

Professor Saleem Engineer, National General Secretary of the Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity (FDCA) & Visiting Scholar from India further highlighted that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as “Rahmatul-lil-Aalameen” (Mercy to all Worlds), making it clear that Islam’s message is Universal and meant for all of Humanity, not restricted to any single group or nation.

He further emphasized that Justice is the foundation of lasting Peace and Islam presents a comprehensive System that organizes life from the individual to the collective level in a society. Concluding his address, Professor Saleem called upon Muslims to convey the message of Islam through their Character and Conduct, urging them to embody the Prophetic Model in their Personal Lives, Family Environments and Professional dealings. He reminded the audience that the Life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the “Uswah Hasanah” (the Best Example) and that only by living this example with Sincerity and Integrity, the Muslim Ummah can fulfills its mission of guiding Humanity toward Peace, Dignity and Success.

Shaikh Waleed Umri, the General Secretary of IMA Kuwait & a Renowned Khateeb in Kuwait delivered his speech on the topic of ‘Isra wal Mi‘raj: Guidance for Today’s Challenges’. In his inspiring speech, Shaikh presented Isra wal Mi‘raj not merely as a miraculous Historical Event, but as a Divine Roadmap for the Revival and Progress of the Ummah. He explained that this journey of Isra wal Mi‘raj occurred during one of the most difficult phases of the Prophet Muhammad ‘s life, conveying a powerful message of Hope, Perseverance & complete reliance on Allah, especially during times of hardship.

Mr Mohammed Umar, the IMA President, while delivering his concluding remarks, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Speakers, Organizers, Volunteers and the large gathering of Attendees for making the Event Meaningful and Successful. He reiterated IMA Kuwait’s commitment to organizing programs that nurture Spiritual Awareness, Moral Responsibility and Community Development.

The program concluded with the distribution of food packets among the Attendees, reflecting the spirit of fellowship and community service.

It focuses on providing a platform for the spiritual and social enhancement of expatriates living in Kuwait through various programs and social gatherings.
