Celebrations across Kuwait bring together people from diverse communities in a spirit of Patriotism, Fraternity and Social Harmony

Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait, through its various units and departments, organized a series of vibrant India's 80th Independence Day Celebrations across Kuwait, bringing together Indian Expatriates from diverse Linguistic, Cultural & Social backgrounds, along with friends of IMA, representatives of various community Organizations & their families.

Going beyond a conventional Independence Day Celebration, the Programs sought to connect the Spirit of Patriotism with responsible Citizenship, Social Harmony & Universal Human Values, and conceived as meaningful platforms to reflect upon the responsibilities that accompany freedom, the values that sustain a just Society, and the timeless message of Compassion, Dignity and peaceful Coexistence.

🌿 FREEDOM WITH RESPONSIBILITY: BUILDING A JUST & COMPASSIONATE INDIA

One of the principal themes addressed across the Programs was ‘Freedom with Responsibility: Building a Just and Compassionate India’.

The Speakers emphasized that freedom is not merely a privilege but also a responsibility. India's independence must be reflected not only in national pride but also in citizens commitment to Justice, Equality, Integrity, Compassion and respect for the dignity of every Human Being.

The discussions highlighted the importance of rising above differences of Religion, Language, Region & Community and working collectively towards building a Nation where every Citizen can live with dignity and equal opportunity.

For Indians living abroad, this responsibility also includes representing the country through professional integrity, good character, respect for the host nation and positive contribution to society.

The message was particularly relevant to the younger generation. Patriotism should inspire service, discipline, honesty, social responsibility and concern for the less privileged.

The theme therefore emerged as a call to transform the celebration of freedom into a commitment to Responsible Citizenship, Social Justice and Compassionate Nation-Building.

🌿 A MESSAGE FOR HUMANITY:

TIMELESS VALUES FROM THE PROPHET'S (PBUH) FAREWELL SERMON

The second Theme, ‘A Message for Humanity: Timeless Values from the Prophet's (PBUH) Farewell Sermon”, provided a profound humanitarian and Interfaith dimension to the Independence Day celebrations.

The speakers drew attention to the universal principles contained in the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ Farewell Sermon, principles that transcend boundaries of Religion, Ethnicity, Nationality and Culture. The message emphasized the Sanctity of Human Life, Dignity and Property, the importance of Justice, the rejection of discrimination & superiority based on race, color, language or lineage, and the responsibility of individuals to uphold the rights of others.

The Speakers presented the Farewell Sermon not merely as an important historical event in Islamic history, but as a timeless Ethical framework for peaceful and responsible human coexistence. its message of justice, compassion, mutual respect, protection of rights and peaceful relations offers an important foundation for building communities where differences become a source of understanding rather than division.

For IMA, presenting these universal values in the context of an Independence Day celebration also provided an opportunity to demonstrate that Patriotism & Universal Humanitarian Values can complement one another. The Programs thus provided an opportunity to present the humanitarian message of Islam in a manner that resonates beyond religious & cultural boundaries.

A HEARTWARMING TRIBUTE BY CHILDREN

One of the most cherished moments of the celebrations was a special presentation by children, who performed “Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara”, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism and emotion.

Indian flags were distributed among the audience, and the children's performance soon became a collective expression of patriotism, with guests & families joining them in singing and waving the tricolor.

The beautiful sight of children leading the gathering symbolized India's Unity in Diversity & highlighted the Importance of nurturing patriotic & humanitarian values among the next generation.

📍 IMA INDEPENDENCE DAY PROGRAMMES ACROSS KUWAIT

1.      Salmiya Units 1 & 2 – 15 August 2026

Salmiya Units jointly organized its Independence Day Program at Royal Deccan Palace, Salmiya at 7 PM.

Dr. Shinjin Das Gupta, Forum of Indian Doctors Official, addressed the theme ‘Freedom with Responsibility. Building a Just and Compassionate India’, while Mr. Waleed Umri spoke on ‘A Message for Humanity: Timeless Values from the Prophet’s (PBUH) Farewell Sermon’.

2.      Abu Halifa Unit – 15 August 2026

Abu Halifa Unit organized its Independence Day Celebration at Nizamat Hyderabad Party Hall, Fahaheel, at 6:30 PM.

The Program featured Mr. Mohamed Faiyaz, Secretary-Tamil Nadu Muslim Association Kuwait, and renowned Speaker & Khateeb Mr. Nisar Ahmad. Guests of Honor included Mr. Asimanand Mund, President-Kuwait Odisha Association; Mr. Karamjit Singh Grover, President-Punjabi Cultural Society; and Mr. Alokesh Roy, President-Bengali Cultural Society of Kuwait.

3.      English Unit & KMWA – 15 August 2026

IMA English Unit, in association with Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA), organized its Independence Day Program at Avanthi Palace Restaurant, Salmiya, at 7:00 PM.

Mr. Vikram Kunjibettu, President-Kuwait Kannada Koota, was the Chief Guest. Dr. Surendra Naik, President-GSB Sabha Kuwait & Keynote Speaker Mr. Parvez Hanif addressed the audience on the Topics.

4.      Khaitan Unit – 15 August 2026

Khaitan Unit organized its Independence Day Celebration at Nizamat Restaurant, Khaitan, at 8 PM.

Renowned Speaker & Khateeb Mr. Shamvil Parvez addressed the audience on the Event Theme.

5.      Fahaheel Unit – 20 August 2026

Fahaheel Unit conducted its Independence Day Celebration at Souq Sabah, Fahaheel, at 7 PM.

Mr. Satya Narayana Yedla, Core HSE Engineer, Negulo GHSE Team, KOC, was the Guest of Honor of the Event & Keynote Speaker Mr. Parvez Hanif, President-Abu Halifa Unit delivered the keynote address on the Theme.

6.      Mangaf Unit – 28 August 2026

Mangaf Unit will conduct its Independence Day Celebration at Souq Sabah, Fahaheel, at 5 PM.

Mr. Asif Pathan & Mr Tanveer Beg will deliver the Keynote addresses on the Topics.

The Programs witnessed enthusiastic participation from friends of IMA members, community leaders and representatives of various cultural, social & humanitarian organizations with their families.

Special Guests, Guests of Honor and Chief Guests representing different Community Organizations in their addresses to the audience at respective Events appreciated IMA’s efforts in creating an inclusive platform and organizing Programs that go beyond conventional celebrations by incorporating messages of social responsibility, humanitarian values & community harmony.

The Events commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by their translation, setting a reflective & spiritually meaningful tone for the gatherings.

Each Program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the respective event organizers, expressing gratitude to the Guests, Speakers, Volunteers, Participants, Families and everyone whose support contributed to the success of the celebrations.

The Gatherings were followed by delicious buffet dinners, providing guests & families an opportunity to interact, strengthen friendships and enjoy fellowship in a warm and cordial atmosphere.
