In a major initiative highlighting the upcoming International Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and promoting early detection, health education, and community well-being, the Women’s Wing of the Velinadu Vazh Thamizharkal Nala Sangam & trust (VVTNS) - Kuwait successfully organized the "Breast Cancer & Uterine Cancer Awareness 2026" campaign on Friday, September 25, at KALA Hall. The event saw an impressive turnout of hundreds of attendees from diverse sectors of the expatriate community, including representatives from TVK, DMK, AIADMK, PMK, NTK, MJK, NDMK,TVMK, DMDK, TMMK and others along with social organizations like The Frontliners, Aranthai Trust, Kuwait Otunar Sevai Maiyyam, Alibai , Kuwait Tamil makkal sevai maiyyam, Tamil Nurses Asscoiation Kalakalappu Friends & Others Notably, more than fifty women participated in the dedicated session, highlighting the community's growing commitment to women's health education. Serving as the keynote speaker, Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair, a leading Medical Oncologist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC), delivered a comprehensive and educational presentation. Dr. Nair provided clear, detailed insights into various types of cancers affecting women, emphasizing the critical importance of early screening, self-examinations, and recognizing initial symptoms. "Early detection remains the single most effective tool in improving treatment outcomes and saving lives," Dr. Nair emphasized during her talk. A major highlight of the gathering was an inspiring address by cancer survivor Mrs. Saritha Devi, who served as the motivational speaker for the event. Sharing her personal journey with remarkable grace and fortitude, Mrs. Saritha Devi stood as a true beacon of hope and strength. Demonstrating extraordinary courage and warmth, she engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the audience, addressing their questions directly without a trace of sorrow or hesitation. Her upbeat, open approach transformed sensitive discussions into a source of pure motivation. Her powerful message of resilience deeply moved the audience, leaving attendees with an overwhelming sense of positivity and encouragement. Dr. S.M. Hythar Ali, Founder and Chairman of the MA HYTHAR Group, graced the event as the special guest. In his address, he commended the initiatives taken by the VVTNS Ladies Wing in organizing crucial health awareness and educational camps for the expatriate community living in Kuwait. Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing personal wellness, he urged the audience to adopt a balanced lifestyle and healthy eating habits based on the medical guidance provided by Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair. The event brought together representatives across political and social spectrums, showcasing strong unity for a shared public health cause. Organizers (Nellai Maraikayar, Nabil Qasim, Muthuramalingam, Manikandan, Iyyapan, Ithayathullah, Saidai Geejo, Noushad Ali, Jaikumar, Anandaravi, Bamani Basha & Rajkumar ) expressed their sincere gratitude to the guest speakers, community leaders, venue coordinators at KALA Hall, and all attendees whose active participation made the initiative a resounding success. The Women’s Wing of VVTNS Kuwait consisting of Unnamalai, Shakilabanu, Ayesha, Famitha, Dhanalaxmi, Shanti, Chandra(India) Sabeena, Chandra (Srilanka) reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to hosting similar welfare programs, aiming to build a healthier and more informed community in Kuwait.
