DIABETIC NEUROPATHY DETECTION CAMP HELD  AT DEPT OF MEDICINE YIACO APOLLO MEDICAL CENTER KUWAIT ON 23^RD & 24^TH NOV 2013

As a part of comprehensive family care to provide complete health care to the society a free campaign for diabetic patients was held on 23^rd and 24^th November 2013 in the Department of Medicine at Yiaco Apollo Medical Center.  The camp was successfully conducted under the supervision of Dr Mansi Joneja Specialist Internal medicine in cooperation with Merck Serono Company who extended a helping hand in the activity and participated actively. The Merck Serono team comprised of their sales manager Mr Osama Ibrahim Hamed duly supported by Mr Ahmed Malik Ali and Mr Ahmed Yousry Elgendry. 

The attendance for the event was very encouraging with almost 150 patients being screened for peripheral neuropathy which is a commonly ignored complication of diabetes and these patients were duly counseled about the care and treatment for the same. Also a dietetic plan for diabetes was demonstrated and those attending were also given the advice about the proper diet control and foot care in diabetes by the attending dietician. Seeing to the tremendous response and the satisfaction of the patients in this event, it has been planned by the center to hold such camps in the future.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta – Medical Director of the center and Dr Osama Saber Mustafa Consultant Administration at Yiaco Apollo Medical center made all possible efforts to make the event successful for the benefit of the patients attending. The event was made possible with the help of the reception staff, the excellent and dedicated nursing staff and the volunteers at Yiaco Apollo Medical center who took care of all the patients in this event.
