Is your pillow case giving you bad skin?

Burying your face into your fluffy pillow at night is probably one of the best feelings in life, no? Especially after a long day.
But hold it right there if you're about to hit the hay, because your lovely pillow might actually be giving you spots and blemishes!
Fresh from consulting with skincare experts at the Association of Professional Hair and Makeup Artists (APHAMA), we've got some pretty grimy news for you.
Warning us that they were going to be blunt, the APHAMA said, "When you sleep, you drool, perspire and sometimes sweat. This goes directly onto your pillow case and sheets.
"Most of us know to wash our sheets once a week, but even with regular washing, your pillow is a breeding ground for bacteria, dustmites and their feces."
Ahem, excuse us, feces? Feces?
"To keep your pillow clean, every two weeks you should vacuum it with a turbo brush (think Dyson and their attachment spinner brush), then wash it on hot (or follow care instructions), shake the pillow out and let dry naturally in sunlight," the experts tell us.
"This regular cleaning will help reduce the bacteria, and nasties in the pillow."
But what if you don't have time for all of that every day?
"Here's our pro tip. During the week between washing the sheets, turn your pillowcase inside out and upside down, so that each night you are getting a side that your face hasn't been touching.
"You should notice fairly quickly that this makes a difference in getting clearer skin."
Wow. So will you be thinking twice before face planting the pillow tonight? We're still stuck on feces...
