Delhi has to wait more for monsoonal showers, says IMD
Parts of Delhi on Wednesday received light spells of rain, bringing much-needed respite to the people from the scorching heat.
Moderate to intense spells of rains continue to lash isolated places in parts of Mumbai and Thane. Parts of Thane and Navi Mumbai have been witnessing light rains since Tuesday morning.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert indicating heavy rains till June 17 in Mumbai. This year the onset of monsoon was declared on June 9, two days before its official onset date. Owing to a trough lying over the eastern Arabian Sea, coastal parts of the state and a few districts in south-interior Karnataka are expected to experience widespread rainfall, while Bengaluru may receive light to moderate showers over the next two days. Due to the gusty wind, Bengaluru is experiencing a wind-chill effect, wherein as the wind speed increases, body temperature tends to cool at a faster rate
