Hassan eyes history as Camacho-Quinn makes one

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn gave Puerto Rico its first-ever gold in an Olympics track and field event, beating American world-record holder Keni Harrison in the women's 100 metres hurdles, clocking 12.37 seconds. Though Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, it fields a separate team at the Olympics.

Five years back at Rio, Camacho-Quinn had hit two hurdles and stumbled over in the semis. But she came to Tokyo with the three fastest times in the world this year and set an Olympic record in the semis. And now, she has the gold.

Sifan Hassan is one-third through her quest to a historic treble after winning the women's 5,000m gold. The Ethiopian-born 28-year-old who now competes for the Netherlands is aiming to become the first woman to win the 1,500m, the 5,000 and the 10,000m at Tokyo. Earlier in the day, she won the 1,500m heat despite falling on the final lap.
