Indian Embassy's advisory on fraudulent calls
It has been brought to the attention of Embassy of India in Kuwait that some unscrupulous individuals are calling Indian nationals, posing as Embassy officials, with a view to extract money. These calls are being made by fraudsters/scamsters by cloning even Embassy’s landline numbers to establish their fake credentials. These individuals may at times provide certain personal particulars to make their claims sound convincing.
In recent weeks there have been an increase in the number of such complaints received in the Embassy.
All Indian nationals in Kuwait are hereby informed that the Embassy never requests for any such payments, nor for money transfers through telephone calls or through unauthorized means, nor will ask for your banking credentials/credit card details etc.
Established processes and procedures are in place in respect of various services provided by the Embassy, which are clearly laid out on the Embassy's official website (https://www.indembkwt.gov.in/).
Irrespective of how genuine these calls appear to be, all concerned are advised to exercise utmost caution and not to fall prey to any fraudulent attempts. They may report such calls, if any, to Embassy of India at firstname.lastname@example.org.
