Kuwait Introduces Technical Workers Skill Testing

The Public Authority for Manpower has officially declared its plans to initiate a skill test for technical workers, establishing it as a mandatory requirement for obtaining a work permit. This significant development is set to be implemented in collaboration with the Public Authority for Applied Education.

The announcement, made under the guidance of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, is a crucial step towards the integration of smart recruitment practices within the country.

To formalize this initiative, a memorandum of understanding is anticipated to be signed between the Public Authority for Manpower and the Public Authority for Applied Education. This agreement will outline the process of conducting practical and technical tests for skilled workers in Kuwait. Successful completion of these tests will be a prerequisite for the issuance of a work permit.

Authorities believe that these skill tests for expatriates will play a pivotal role in elevating the proficiency of the technical workforce in Kuwait, thereby contributing to the overall enhancement of the labor market.
