The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has credited the cooperation of citizens and residents in reducing electricity consumption with helping stabilize Kuwait’s power grid during a period of increased pressure on the national electricity system.

Ministry spokesperson Eng. Fatima Hayat said the public’s commitment to energy conservation enabled the ministry to overcome a challenging phase experienced over the past two days, reducing electricity demand below expected levels and supporting technical teams in maintaining grid stability and uninterrupted power supply.

Hayat expressed appreciation to citizens, residents, government entities, public institutions, media organizations, the private sector and all those who helped amplify the ministry’s awareness campaign through social media platforms and messaging applications.

She said the widespread public response demonstrated a high level of community awareness and national solidarity, with many people actively sharing conservation messages to encourage responsible electricity use.

According to the ministry, the awareness campaign conducted on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18, played a direct role in reaching a broad segment of the public and strengthening the culture of energy conservation during what it described as an exceptional period for the country’s electricity system.

Hayat called for continued public cooperation, urging everyone to embrace electricity and water conservation as a national responsibility that helps protect resources, maintain the stability of utility networks and ensure the sustainability of essential services.
