Al Shaheed Park Phase Three is expected to begin on October 1
Kuwait is preparing to open the third phase of Al Shaheed Park to the public on Thursday, October 1, marking the completion of another major expansion of one of the country’s most prominent public spaces.
The Cabinet reviewed a visual presentation on the final stages of the project, presented by Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mishal and the committee overseeing the development. The new phase is designed as an integrated destination combining green spaces, sports, entertainment, culture and family activities.
Covering 243,605 square metres, the project includes 203,162 square metres of built-up area, with 190,661 square metres dedicated to green spaces and 16,232 square metres allocated for investment activities. A major opening carnival is planned for October 1, featuring entertainment programmes, musical performances, light shows and activities for families and children, adding a festive atmosphere to the launch.
One of the key attractions will be the Al-Sur Theater complex, which includes a Roman-style theatre, outdoor cinema and multipurpose hall, alongside a women’s health club, cafés and retail outlets. The sports and recreation facilities are equally extensive. Visitors will find an ice-skating rink and museum, snow games hall, electric car racing circuit and flying game, as well as the upper garden.
Outdoor facilities will include a mosque, open-air theatre, outdoor games areas, running track and fountains. The development will also provide parking for 2,388 vehicles, supporting its expected popularity among families and visitors.
With its combination of nature, recreation, entertainment and community spaces, Phase Three is set to further transform Al Shaheed Park into a major destination for residents and visitors, offering something for children, families, sports enthusiasts and those simply looking for an open green space in the heart of Kuwait City.
