CBK requests the public to report unlicensed financial transactions

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) has urged the public to report individuals or entities carrying out financial activities without its authorization, warning that such practices could put customers’ funds at risk and undermine the stability of the country’s economy.

In a post on its official account on X, the bank said activities requiring reporting include money transfers, the provision of financing and the operation of electronic payment links without a licence.

The CBK called on the public to share any relevant information by calling 22972999 or emailing Unlicensed@cbk.gov.kw.

The bank stressed that public cooperation is essential to combating unlicensed financial activities, protecting customers from financial risks and maintaining a safe financial environment.
