Educational Visit to BURGAN BANK
On 10th Nov 15, the Commerce students of Class XI and IGCSE along with their teachers Ms. Neerza Mani and Ms. Husena visited the Burgan Bank HQ in Sharq. The students were given a detailed tour of the bank and were explained how the different departments of the bank worked. The first visit was to the main vault of the bank in the basement where they learnt that before being stored in the vault the money undergoes 3 different procedures such as, Paperwork, Counting and storage of money, and Transfer of money. The next stop was the Investment, Banking and Treasury Section. This section was dedicated to communicating with the market which is of three types such as, Forex, Money markets, and Capital markets.
The students learnt that the working of this section is updated on an hourly basis so as to make it more efficient. This section also has a sales desk for the elite clients so as to provide them with personalized services that are not available to other normal customers. It also contains a control functions desk which will take care of any mistakes that are committed during marketing transactions. As a result, this section is very vital to the banks’ operations and stands as an outlet for its operations with traders and companies. The last stop was the teller section where cash deposits and cash withdrawals are taken care of. This section is divided into Corporate and Retail section. The Corporate section deals with companies whereas the Retail section deals with individuals. They also got a chance to explore the premier banking section where customers were given financial advice regarding their accounts and money. They learnt about the various types of accounts such as Youmi account and Youth account.
Thanks to FAIPS DPS, the students left the Burgan Bank HQ equipped with the first hand knowledge about the working of a bank.
