ICSK JUNIOR CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY
November 14th, the birthday of the first Prime Minister of Independent India Shri Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated in India as Children’s Day. To extend a fitting tribute, the Indian community School Kuwait Junior held special assemblies for all classes from LKG to class VI on 16th and 17th November 2015.
The famous saying is ‘we were all children once, we all desire for the well being of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind.’
The school management extended their best wishes and distributed chocolates to all staff and students on the occasion.
Teachers took over the role of children and began with a soulful prayer service and presented cluster of programmes. This included skits on a live class-room scene attired in school uniform, foot tapping fusion dances, fashion show and melodious chorus songs ‘all celebrating childhood’.
The portals of the school were adorned with educative Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru quotes reminding students of the glorious Indian History. A teacher attired as Nehruji, wearing a rose, told an anecdote on the significance of the day. A rich learning experience indeed!
Principal in-charge Mrs.Sherly Dennis, in her address, congratulated and appreciated the enthusiasm of all the staff members. She encouraged the children to dream big, set a higher target and work towards achieving the same.
All the assemblies dispersed after singing of the Indian National Anthem and saluting Bharatmata with JAI HIND!
