ICSK SENIOR ENTHRALLS WITH MEGA ARTS FEST PARADIGM 2017

alt ‘Paradigm 2017', the Mega Arts Fest of the Indian Community School Kuwait, Senior Branch was conducted with great verve and vigour on the 01st and 02nd November 2017, at the Senior School campus. The mega arts festival, unique to ICSK Senior was inaugurated in the midst of much pomp and fervour by great luminaries on the 01st of November 2017. The inauguration set the stage ready for all the onstage items. Paradigm provides a rostrum for the budding talents of the school with 81 onstage items and 37 offstage items. This year’s event witnessed tremendous participation with over 1500 altcontestants in various events.

The event began with a grand inaugural ceremony, featuring the Chief Guest, Mr. Horst Blasinger, Head of Cultural Section, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr.S. N. Raju, Honorary Treasurer to the ICSK Board of Trusteeswas also present to grace the occasion. Dr.V.Binumon, the Principal of ICSK Senior branch, delivered the welcome address to the elite gathering.  The Chief Guest extended his pleasure at the opportunity to witness an omnium gatherum of art forms. He also imparted a positive reaction regarding the bilateral ties between India and Germany, and wishedalt good fortune on the grand event.Dr. Sam .T.Kuruvilla, the Vice-Principal of ICSK Senior proposed the vote of thanks to the esteemed guests.

The Inaugural ceremony raised the curtain for an electrifying atmosphere that accompanied the two-day long arts fest. Both days were characterized by a vibrancy radiating from the colours, music, and dance, which reinvigorated the students to undertake the contests with a positive zeal. The spirit of participation overruled the undercurrent of stiff competition, providing students with the prospect to scout out their latent talents and brandish their altskills with expertise.

Art is the manifestation of human aestheticism and youth is the celebration period of a human life. ICSK Senior has facilitated this Mega Arts Fest to laud the overt artistry of the students. Off-stage and onstage programmes were organized as part of Paradigm 2017, with the off-stage events held well in advance. Students from classes VI to XII partook in this Mega Arts Fest. Competitions were held in three categories- Category III - (Classes 6, 7 and 8), IV (Classes 9 and 10) and V (Classes 11 and 12) on 3 stages. It was highly commendable that altalmost all the students participated in a kaleidoscope of 108 events, both off-stage and on-stage.Excellent musical, oratory, literary and artistic skills of the participants astonished the judges and mesmerized the audience. A huge crowd witnessed the exhilarating performance of students that blended ancient and modern expressions, classical and popular elements from both the Indian and the Western cultures. 'Paradigm 2017' fully served its objective to develop both the curricular and co-curricular aspects of an individual’s personality. The ambience of the event was imbued with dance, drama and altsoul-stirring music. Two days of cultural extravaganza opened up large opportunity for the students to showcase their talents in various fields of art.

The Mega event culminated with the Valedictory Ceremony held at the ICSK Senior school auditorium on Thursday 02nd of November, 2017 in the presence of a large audience including the parents, students and eminent dignitaries. Certificates and trophies were given away to the winners in both the individual and group items. The Chief Guest,H.E. Mr. Tatang Budiealt Utama Razak, Ambassador of Indonesia to Kuwait congratulated the winners and spoke on the intangible relation between aesthetics and the intellect. The Honorary Chairman Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahman, the Honorary Secretary Mr. A. Amer Mohammed and the Honorary Joint Secretary Mr. Agnelo A. S. Fernandes were present on the occasion to congratulate the winners and bless all the participants. Dr. Neelamani, Dr.R Panicker and Mr. Johnny Kunnil also graced the occasion with their presence. The winning teams’ spectacular performance stunned the spectators. Master Vaishnav Girish, third runner up altof the second season of ‘Indian Idol Junior’ in 2015 and one among the six final contestants of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs 2017’ added charm to the occasion with his mellifluous songs. Vaishnav who is winning millions of hearts with his soulful voice brought thepeople present on their feet cheering for the young talent. Master Tojan Toby, an ex-student of the school too was also there to mesmerize the audience with his electrifying performance.

The titles of Kalathilak and Kalapratibha, which is the highest honour in the altarts fest was bestowed on the students with the maximum number of points for onstage and offstage items. In Category 3 Master Sanskar Mishra of  class 7-B was conferred the title KALAPRATIBHA and Christina Susan Viji of class 7-E secured the title KALATHILAK. In Category 4, Master Rudra Vipul Patel of class 10-B was awarded the title KALAPRATIBHA and Miss Hiba Hameed of class 9-A claimed the title KALATHILAK. Master Moses Kurien Mathew of class 11-I was conferred the title KALAPRATIBHA in Category 5 and Miss Rhea Rebecca Philip of class 12-C was presented with the title of KALATHILAK. House points were awarded based on the overall score and 'Santosh' house was declared to be in the first position followed by 'Shanti' house.The skillful coordination of the mega event was meticulously carried out by the Joint Conveners for the event Mr.Sreekumar.S and Saritha.P.Nair & the assistant joint Convener Ms. Jayabala Jayram. Mr.Sreekumar.S delivered the vote of thanks expressing sincere gratitude to all the guests, the ICSK management, Principal, students and the fraternity of ICSK for the smooth and successful conduct of the Mega Event.
