 A Thrilling Trip to the Magnificent Country of Singapore

On 27th October 2018, a group of young ICSKians along with their teachers-in-charge – Mr. Vinod Laxmanan, Mr. Antony Austin, Mrs. Beena Jerome, Mrs. Mariam Sam, Mrs. Deepa Biju and travel official from Ceasars Travels Mrs. Philomina set upon a journey to one of the most fascinating Asian countries, Singapore. The educational tour was preceded by a short gathering at ICSK, where the Principal, Dr.V Binumon briefed the team about all rules and regulations and wished them all the best. They landed at the Singapore Changi airport on 28th October 2018, at 14:30 local time.
On their arrival, the students were divided into two coaches and taken to the Hotel D’Resort located in Downtown East. Each coach had a local tour guide who briefed them about the things in Singapore. The team reached their hotel at around 17:30. For dinner they were taken to an Indian restaurant, Bhandari, located near the Singapore Flyer.
On Monday, 29th October 2018, the team explored the South East Asia aquarium. They were amazed at the variety and beauty of the sea creatures dwelling at the aquarium. After a tasty luncheon from a local restaurant, the team returned back to their hotel and attended a programme organized by the cultural committee. Miss Sakina, Miss Fatima and Miss, Rashida sang a song for everyone, while Miss Mriga Arora performed a dance. They then had an interactive game of charades after which they left for the Night Safari to the world’s first nocturnal zoo. The team went on a tram ride and saw various nocturnal animals in their natural habitats including animals like the white Asiatic lion, Singapore’s first elephant calf ‘Neha’, tigers, hyenas etc. This was followed by a wonderful show titled ‘Creatures of the Night’ where they had a chance to learn about many nocturnal animals and their habits. And after dinner, they returned back to their place of residence.
On Tuesday 30th October 2018, the team visited the Universal Studios of Singapore. Outside the main entrance, they were all given their entry tickets and a $15 food voucher for lunch.
The theme park was divided into 7 zones: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far away and Madagascar.
There were many rides including roller-coasters, 3-D and 4-D rides and much more.They assembled back at the entrance at around 17:30.And after having lunch at the ‘Good Old Days’ restaurant in Beach Island, they went back from Beach Island via train to Waterfront Island. They then went to see a wonderful mechanical crane show which began at 20:00. It lasted for 10 minutes, after which they returned to their coaches and headed back to the hotel.
On Thursday, 31st October 2018, they visited the Jurong Bird Park where they encountered a wide variety of birds After an exciting tram ride they got a chance to attend a wonderful show titled ‘High Flyers’ where they witnessed many tricks performed by various birds like parrots, cranes, pelicans etc.
After lunch, they left for the Science Centre. Their first stop was at the Omni Theatre where they saw a movie titled “Space Next’. They were then given time till 17:15 to explore the rest of the Science Centre.
At around 17:45 the crew left from Science Centre and headed for dinner to Mughal Mahal restaurant after which they returned back to the hotel.
On Thursday, 1st November 2018, the team visited the Merlion Park, famous for its Merlion Statue which has a lion’s head and the body of a fish and is used as a mascot of Singapore.
They crew also saw the new and old Supreme Courts of Singapore and much more.
They then headed for a shopping spree at Bugis Street.
After shopping, they went for lunch to Kublai Khan, a well-known Mongolian Barbeque Restaurant. And then they enthusiastically resumed their shopping at Little India. They then headed back to the hotel and after freshening up their passports were returned to them.
The whole crew collected some money and paid their tour guides and drivers for their constant help and cooperation. Mrs. Beena Jerome handed over the money to them and thanked them on behalf of the entire team.
They then headed to the airport for their departure.
The team arrived at the Kuwait International Airport at 5:10, local time on 2nd November 2018. They were then transported to the Indian Community School (Senior), where their parents awaited them.
