ICSK’S PREMIER HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR GARNERS ATTENTION FROM INDIAN STUDENTS ACROSS KUWAITIn celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Indian Community School, Kuwait, organized a higher Education Fair with a difference, the first of its kind in Kuwait, on the 11th and 12th of January, 2019. The Fair was arranged within the ICSK Senior  school campus and displayed universities across the world, made accessible to students across Kuwait. The career fair also featured career counselling sessions and aptitude tests for students to better understand their strengths, so that they successfully find a university tailored to their interests.

The Career Fair comes as one of the premier events celebrating the school’s Diamond Jubilee. Renowned Career Guru, Dr. P.R. Venkataraman was invited as special guest to the Fair, where he delivered multiple sessions of Career Guidance seminars to students of classes 8 to 12. To commemorate this year’s celebrations, the Indian Community School forges ahead as a stalwart and pioneer in its service to the Indian community by setting up this exposition with exclusive focus on the students of all Indian schools within Kuwait.

The higher education fair was inaugurated ceremoniously on the 11th of January by the Chief Guest – the Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait – H. E. Dato’ Mohammad Ali Selamat in the presence of the Guest of Honour – Deputy Chief of Mission and Appellate Authority, Indian Embassy - Mr. Raj Gopal Singh, and Special guest, Dr. P.R. Venkataraman. The occasion was also graced by the presence of the Principals of the other Indian schools in Kuwait and other special invitees in addition to the parents and students.

Dato’ Mohammad Ali Selamat, had words of high praise on the congenial atmosphere generated by the school. In his address, he lauded the efforts taken by the school to equip the young leaders of tomorrow through the career fair. He also mentioned that this career fair ought to be the beginning of many more opportunities offered to students of the Indian community.

Special Guest, Dr. P.R. Venkataraman, also extolled the school’s endeavor to set up a highly professional framework for the career guidance seminar. He commended the enterprising work of the School’s management, the principal and his team. The overwhelming turnout by the universities and the astounding response by students and parents were the central motivations driving the productive career counselling sessions.

41 universities and colleges from around the world participated in the exhibition – from UK, USA, Canada, France, Malaysia, Dubai, India and Kuwait. These universities offered students an insight into their campuses, providing them with International exposure and experience. Around 2000 students were a part of this incredible enterprise. The school campus witnessed an array of intelligent interactions, banquet of career choices and scintillating talks by experts on excellent career opportunities, enlivening the campus over the days.

ICSK’S PREMIER HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR GARNERS ATTENTION FROM INDIAN STUDENTS ACROSS KUWAITDr. P.R. Venkataraman directed eight career guidance sessions, which witnessed a staggering attendance by around 3500 parents and students. Around 400 students with their parents attended the career counselling sessions, after taking part in the aptitude tests that were conducted earlier. These aptitude tests measure the skill levels of the student, so that the career counsellor is successfully able to guide the student onto the right career path. The program was coordinated across 5 days, with two days for the exhibition and 3 days for the counselling sessions.

Career Guru, Dr. P.R. Venkataraman expressed his gratitude on the last day of the fair, stating how this event was unprecedented, even in India. Students who attended the fair received professional career guidance and awareness of the multifarious opportunities open to them. Students also confirmed admissions into universities of their choice in large numbers.  Students and parents from Indian schools across Kuwait appreciated the wonderful opportunity and the excellent forum for these young decision makers to secure their future.

Education fairs have often been deployed to market further education institutions, Universities and colleges. The spectacular nature of the fair’s management ushered in ambitious students in large numbers from all the Indian schools in Kuwait. The range of fields that were exhibited, gathered productive responses from students, using the most effective channels. This educational fair is unique, as it is the first time that an educational institution in Kuwait is conducting a comprehensive fair comprising of aptitude test, career counselling and career guidance seminar, thus making the Higher Education Fair, a maiden venture in Kuwait. The highly advanced technology and professionalism of the fair leaves it unrivalled and offers scope for many such enterprising affairs to take root. ICSK Higher Education Fair 2019, truly proves that communication with the young people of today is the key to unlocking the much advanced channels for their bright future.
