Onam Celebrations at IISM

Onam, a unique cultural festival celebrated by Keralites all over the world, was observed at India International School on 11 September 2019 in a splendid manner. Festivities kick started with a special assembly by the junior school. The spotlight item of the event was a group dance with onam theme performed by students clad in traditional outfit.
The legend behind Onam celebrations was briefed in a short speech. In the concluding speech, principal wished all a happy and prosperous Onam. The whole school was bursting with anxiety when the principal announced for a short gathering in the school auditorium.
The surprise entry of ‘Maveli’ was greeted with an overwhelming outpour of excited shouts and cheers. ‘Maveli’ was accompanied by the School Director Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal F M Basheer Ahmed, Vice Principals Mrs. Sophy John, Mrs. Indulekha Suresh & Mr. Saleem K. and teachers, all resplendent in their traditional wear of Kerala.
The School Director addressed the enthralled audience and conveyed the message of Onam - brotherhood, happiness, contentment and sacrifice.
