FIRST COMMERCE BATCH OF ICSK KHAITAN COMPLETES ACCA DIPLOMA

IMG 0197A grand ceremony to felicitate and award Diploma in Accounting and Business to Commerce Students of ICSK, Khaitan was held at Millenium Hotel and Convention Center, Kuwait on Friday, the 8th November, 2019.

Sixteen young and dynamic students of ICSK, Khaitan achieved a professional milestone by completing their Diploma studies while pursuing their Class 11th and 12th CBSE Commerce studies.

The function was graced by the august presence of luminaries from industry and academia.

The programme started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Kuwait National Anthem and it was followed by an invocation song by Ms. Lena Maria George and Ms. Megha Johnson.

Mr. K. Gangadhhar Shirsath, Principal ICSK, Khaitan, welcomed the distinguished guests Mr. Pinak Maitra, CFO, KIPCO, Mr. Michael Gordon, Director, British Council, Kuwait, Mr. Alexander Leach, Education Manager, ACCA, Middle East, Mr. Amitabh Ranjan, Second Secretary, Embassy of India in Kuwait, Mr. Anjum Masood , Principal, International School of Pakistan, Kuwait, Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Chairman, BOT, ICSK, Mr. Vinukumar Nair, Hon. Vice – Chairman, BOT, Mr. Amer Mohammed, Hon. Secretary, BOT, Mr. S. N. Raju, Hon. Treasurer, BOT, Principals, Vice – Principals and Deputy Vice – Principal of various branches of ICSK, parents, students and staff of ICSK.

Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath stressed the importance of dreaming big and working hard to fulfill these dreams. He congratulated the students or their exempt long effort and brilliant success. He, further, urged these students to continue their journey and bring it to fruition by completing their degree in BSc. Accounting from UK.

Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Chairman, BOT, the visionary and leader who floated the idea of ACCA coupled with Commerce at senior secondary level of CBSE, also congratulated the successful students. He motivated the students to set higher targets and work towards achieving them. He appreciated the efforts of staff and students in making ACCA education a successful venture as ICSK is the only school offering ICSK qualification to its students along with their CBSE studies. It’s allowing students to gain skills as well as certifications from ACCA, UK which has got high value worldwide in job market of accounting field. He informed that these students with Diploma have achieved stage in ACCA equivalent to B.Com degree before completing their class 12th and that remains a unique achievement for them as well as ICSK.

Mr. Pinak Maitra, CFO, KIPCO, touched a chord among the audience by narrating his personal experiences to inspire the young children. He underlined the need to be focused and ethical in one’s approach in the field of accounting and business and advised students on some key values as his success tips. Students felt lucky with his presence as he is a role model for success in the field of commerce and they were happy to receive awards through him.

A motivational song ‘Speak Life…’ rendered by Ms. Alpha and Ms. Irene moved the audience next.

Master Ariz Umer, thereafter familiarized the audience about the need for financial literacy.

IMG 0205Mr. Alexander Leach, Education Manager, ACCA, Middle East, averred that the requirement for accounting professionals is going to increase in the years to come. He also congratulated the students on their success and assured all support from ACCA to help more youth to avail benefits of this programme. He appreciated ICSK for being a Silver Learning Partner and Computer Based Exam Centre for ACCA in Kuwait with highest number of enrollments.

The next part of the Ceremony was giving among the ACCA Diploma certificates and mementos to the students. Each student received a rousing applause from the appreciating audience.

Mr. Michael Gordon, Director, British Council, Kuwait, admired success of the students and wished them good luck for their future endeavor. He too assured support from British Council for educational activities and shared some words of wisdom from his educational experience.

Ms. Alisha Rouf gave an impressive dance performance on the theme of high hopes.

Mr. Aqeel Khan and Mr. Shafqat Hussain, ACCA mentors, the tireless teachers, who helped the students realize their dreams, thanked parents, students, ICSK, Khaitan, and others for their integrated efforts.

The distinguished guests were thanked for their inspiring presence and felicitated with mementos by the ICSK Management. The International School of Pakistan felicitated the ICSK Chairman and Principal of ICSK Khaitan as their appreciation for this success being associated with ACCA as well. ICSK management also presented the token of appreciation to the ACCA Mentors and CBE team Ms Hema and Mr Tasadduq for their dedicated efforts behind this success.

It was followed by a photo session comprising the distinguished guests and diploma holders.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. V. Binumon, Principal, ICSK Senior and Sr. Administrator.

The spectacular ceremony came to an end with sumptuous dinner and setting new goals for the much motivated student awardees.
