India International School celebrated the 25th Edition of the National Reading Month in honour of P. N. Panicker- Father of India’s Library Movement, and his message of ‘Read and Grow’. The enrichment month kicked off on 19th of June with a solemn pledge virtually administered by the English teachers to promote the development of our country through judicious reading of knowledge resources in print or digital medium.

English Department as empowering mentors under the auspices of HOD Mrs. Reeja Santhosh planned out a plethora of activities and competitions to rekindle the spirit of reading among the students which lasted till 18th of July. 

Keeping in pace with the maxim: reading make a full man, conference a ready man and writing an exact man.

And simultaneously, with technology taking an active role in collaborative learning, theme based activities ranging from Storytelling, drawing, speech, poster making, extempore and essay writing were organized systematically from classes I to XII.

The active participation of the students with zealous support of their parents stimulated in enhancing the various skills and hassle-free execution of Reading Month activities. Reading as a fundamental skill was initiated at the junior and the senior level to improve the thirst for knowledge, develop vocabulary and gain confidence. One month of enlightening session concluded with book review - A Challenging task, presented logically by Alfred Jacob and Amina Nadeem.

Principal Sophy John, Vice Principals Mr. Saleem and Mrs. Indulekha, applauded the efforts taken up by the teachers and parents too for being a driving force of their child’s collaborative team.

IISM is looking forward to groom the budding readers and develop a passion for learning with a belief to create exciting, enriching and exploratory learning experiences.
