Bhavans Indian Education School celebrated the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”
From 31st October to 2nd November, 2020, under the auspices of the Department of Social Science, to create the spirit of national unity among the students, and make them understand the contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Iron Man of India to the world of Indian tradition and heritage. The School conducted a plethora of enriching and rejuvenating events to instill, in the minds of the students, the importance of unity in diversity.
The students of Grades 5 and 6 made thanksgiving cards to honour the relentless service of the health workers who have been fighting against the deadly COVID 19 virus attack. The children of health workers presented the cards to their parents. The best card was selected and appreciated. This noble gesture rekindled the spirit of support and love in the minds of the future warriors. Around 590 students took part in the mega event.
The students of Grades 7 and 8 were the participants of the Poster Making event on the topic – United India. The well designed posters expressed their utmost respect for all and sundry who tirelessly dedicate their lives for the betterment of India. It was an incredible gesture by the growing minds highlighting the importance of unity and harmony, and celebrating “National Unity” in every aspect of life. Approximately 400 students from grades 7 and 8 took part in this event.
The students of Grades 9 and 10 partook in an essay writing event on the topic- The Role of Sardar Patel in Integrating the Several States in India. The event was to infuse in the minds of young future generation with great values, rich culture and heritage of our great nation. The true purpose of the event was to truly appreciate the involvement and contributions of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel during the struggling times of the freedom movement, which eventually laid the foundation for the unification of India.
A Collaborative Pledge on ‘Unity and Solidarity’ was another meaningful gesture of the occasion. A solemn oath-taking ceremony was held in classes from 4 to 12 on the 1st of November 2020. The students administered the oath to preserve unity among all people of India.
The students also took part in the online quiz competition for youth and children conducted by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education India, through My Gov platform on the theme: ‘Knowledge, Traditions, Practices and Heritage of India’ with the aim of promoting national integration among the youth and children as well as maintaining the unity and integrity of the country.
The eventful celebration, without losing its charm and vigour even on a virtual platform, ignited patriotic fervor and the thought of oneness in every one who was a part of the celebration.
