ICSK WELCOMES THE STUDENTS BACK WITH CHEER & JUBILATION

IMG 20211004 WA0020After one and a half years of silent hallways and empty classrooms, it was a delight for all at The Indian Community School, Kuwait to welcome the students back into the school building on 3rd October 2021, adhering to the norms of Ministry of Health & Ministry of Education, Kuwait with the classes being conducted in the Hybrid mode. The extensive preparation and planning put into making the school re-entry safe and welcoming, is a testament to the care and commitment of the ICSK Management & staff. The school’s aim for the first day was to normalize the school day, have students reacclimatise to the building, and reengage positive connections with other students and staff, all of which are essential for successful learning and growth. This seems to have been a success, despite the face masks, hand washing, directional flow in hallways and physical distancing. It really was quite wonderful to see shining eyes peeking over the tops of masks, as students arrived ready for school year.

The students who were vaccinated as per the ministry norms were welcomed with enthusiasm by the teachers on the morning of 3rd October 2021. The school which is fully equipped with temperature check points, sanitizers and hand washing and well thought out entrance and exit facilities was able to be successful with the school re-entry of the students.

ICSK is privileged to have worked with an outstanding staff to make it a smooth transition for its students during this uncertain time. The school staff has been working hard to plan for a safe opening of school and to implement best practices to mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19. The classrooms have been modified to increase social distancing, signage has been installed throughout the building to guide students, and the schedule has been modified to allow for more time for sanitization and hand washing with physical distancing being the prime objective towards safety.

The school strives to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. The thought “Forward Thinking, Fostering Passions, Developing Responsible Citizens, and Preparing for Tomorrow’s Opportunities” will continue to guide ICSK’s mission to provide a rigorous, joyful and safe school environment. Whether the students are learning in person or remotely at home, the school’s goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.

ICSK’s priorities for reopening remain centred on two critical concepts: a) Protecting the health, safety and well-being of its student community, b) Upholding the mission to educate and enlighten the hearts and minds of its students. The management and staff of ICSK would like to express sincere gratitude to all the parents for helping to prepare the children for the first day of school, as this had a huge impact on helping to make the first day of reopening a successful one.
