“ The more you celebrate in life, the more there is in life to celebrate". Here at Bhavans our aim is to always give experiences worth celebrating.
Despite the constraints of the current covid situation, we at IES make it our priority to provide a wide range of educational experiences to our kids and make use of every opportunity to celebrate and make it memorable. One such event was the ‘Chocolate Day’. It was celebrated on October 17, 2021.
Chocolate is loved by people from all corners of the world. It is not only a great stress buster and a mood lifter but is also good for health. Chocolates aid in improving blood flow and lowers blood pressure. They also act as the powerhouse of antioxidants which serves to delay aging and age-related chronic diseases. The purpose of celebrating chocolate day was to enlighten the little ones on the benefits that this delicious treat offers and also to educate them that everything is good in moderation.
As Confucius once said, “ I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do, and I understand.” Adopting this ideology, we tried to involve our students by teaching them to make their own delicious snack. The kids were seen whipping and flipping, carefully molding chocolates on the platter, popping into the refrigerator on regular intervals and finally presenting beautiful and delicious sweets. This activity not only added a life skill in their quiver but also enhanced learning through a speaking and colouring activity pertaining to the topic.
Chocolate has always been a tasty means of happiness, encouragement, and support. It has been used as a way to treat children to celebrate their achievements and on chocolate day children were proud of their achievement – the tasty sweets on their plate. They shared the sweets with their family and the day ended on a sweet note.
