Bhavans IES Celebrates International Women’s Day 

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait grandly celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022, under the aegis of the departments of English and Social Science with an array of interesting activities for the students of grades 10 and 12. 

The eventful day started with a special morning assembly organized to salute women all over the globe as well as to highlight the importance of gender equality in today’s world. Ethan Bobby Kurien of 12A delivered a short speech on the significance of celebrating Woman’s Day and its relationship with sustainable development. 

Mr. T. Premkumar, Principal, IES, in his address, lauded the enormous contribution of women to the world and thanked them profusely for their selfless services to society. The teachers of English conducted poetry writing and article writing activities during the English periods. The boys wrote articles on the topics, “Is Gender Equality the Need of the Hour?” and “Gender Equality Begins at Home.”. The girls joined the celebration by composing magnificent poems based on the topics, “Being a Girl” and “I am Awesome.” The students also clearly expounded their views on the importance of women empowerment while participating in the discussions held in their classes. During the Social Science periods, the students made posters and cards on the theme ‘Women’s Day and ‘Gender Equality. There was an aura of happiness among students as there was a dazzling display of colorful and informative posters and cards all over the classrooms. 

The observance of International Women’s Day was an enriching and educational experience for the students. The desire to see equality among the genders was evident from their determination. Activities like these pave the way for helping the students to be responsible citizens of tomorrow.
