ICSK AMMAN INDUCTS THE NEW STUDENT SENATE

The Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman Branch conducted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2023- 2024, on 1st May 2023. It is an occasion of paramount importance wherein the chosen student leaders are duly sworn in. It also manifests the belief and confidence the school entrusts in the newly elected school senate. It is the day when the elected leaders don the mantle of leadership and pledge to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.
The electoral process was initiated by filing of nomination on 10th April 2023 by 78 candidates. The screening, campaigning and meet the candidate program were held from 15th to 17th April. They got an opportunity to canvas for votes both off and online. The election was held online on 18th April and 16 emerged winners forming the core senate. The results were declared by Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair on 19th April 2023.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Mr. Peeyush Jain, COO, AIRTEC Group of companies and the President of the most elite IIT-IIM alumni association in Kuwait. The ceremony commenced with the Chief Guest handing over the school and house flags to the elected Senate.
Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair delivered the welcome address and extended a hearty welcome to the Chief Guest Mr. Peeyush Jain and all present. He congratulated the newly elected school senate and reminded them of the duties and responsibilities vested on them. The senate advisor Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar congratulated the winners and elucidated the electoral process.
In his address, the chief guest Mr. Peeyush Jain, congratulated the senate. In his inspirational speech, he spoke about leadership being a skill that has to be fostered from one’s young age and felt the school was rendering this yeomen service admirably. He shared fond memories of being an ex-student of this very same school and having been elected as a head boy in his time nurturing his innate leadership skills. Being a man of exceptional qualification and holding leadership positions both at work and in the society, his speech was a motivating take away for all present.
The Chief Guest Mr. Peeyush Jain pinned the badges for the senate advisor, the house mentors and the school senate. Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair administered the oath to the school senate and the prefects of all the classes. The President of the student Senate Sakina Taizun Petiwala conveyed her gratitude and delivered the acceptance speech on behalf of all the senate members.
The beautiful and graceful invocation dance and a melodious song by the school choir added charm to the event. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Vice Principal Dr. Mary Isaac. She wholeheartedly thanked chief guest Mr. Peeyush Jain, parents and everyone present. She also reminded the newly sworn in senate to carry out their responsibilities with conviction, confidence and commitment.
The ceremony concluded with the senate marching off the venue escorting the guests. The entire proceeding was well compered by Maryam Chorghay and Elvin Tom Varughese, students of class 10 with great elan and ease.
