LEMONADE DAY CELEBRATION AT IES KUWAIT
“It’s not what happens to you, but how you handle it that matters. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If the lemons are rotten, take out the seeds and plant them and grow new lemons.”
Just as the above saying goes, we at Indian Educational School, Kuwait, prepare our young minds to face life and be successful in each stage of life. We celebrated ‘Lemonade Day' on May 4, 2023. The kids came bubbling with excitement for yet another celebration. Their beaming smiles radiated happiness all around.
Children came dressed in yellow summer dresses, straw hats and sunglasses. The chirpy chatter and bright attires spread cheer throughout the school premises. They brought lemons, sugar, salt, water, etc. to make their own tasty lemonades, under the supervision of their teachers. With great fervor and enthusiasm, they squeezed the lemons and made tangy refreshing lemonades and happily shared them with their caring aunties. The contagious smiles that spread across their faces while tasting the results of their own hardwork, was something to treasure.
Through this activity, we were able to introduce very important life skills, the value of sharing and also help our tiny tots experience the joy of giving. The teachers briefly explained to them the various health benefits of lemon. That was not all, the children participated in various fun activities as well. KG 1 children did cotton bud painting on lemon stencils and KG 2 children painted papercups to made beautiful lemons. It was a day full of enthusiasm and joy.
We at IES believe that it is always important to let our children learn the importance of having fun by loving and valuing nature and their loved ones. This will further inculcate various values in them like respecting, loving and caring for peers and teachers. The day was filled with fun and energy.
Every weekend at IES, our little ones go home after a joyful Thursday celebration!
