‘MAMTHA’: MOTHER’S DAY ASSEMBLY- GRADE 4 B 

453A0470Indian Education School, Kuwait celebrated Mother’s Day on May 14, 2023, in a befitting manner to honour the meritorious and unparalleled roles mothers play in our lives. A plethora of both, onstage and offstage events, marked the day with vibrant performances and contributions by the students of IES, Kuwait.  

As a step towards inspiring, educating, and motivating children to perform on stage, the students of grade 4B hosted a special assembly on the theme, “Mamtha”. The parents of the students of grade 4 B were the special invitees.  Mr. T. Premkumar, the Principal presided over the function. He greeted all the mothers present and expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices made by them for bringing up their children in a well cultured manner upholding the tradition of our country and inculcating in them the right values. He motivated the students with his inspiring words and admired the intensive efforts put in by the students. Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the Headmistress of IES appreciated the students and enlightened them with her words of wisdom.  

The onstage events were meticulously coordinated by the class teacher, Mr. Jenit Tomy, Grade 4 coordinator, Ms. Sheeja John and the emcees, Rihanna Aira Manoj and Sreekar Patibandla of grade 4 B.  The performances were set in motion with a melodious song rendered by   Eva of KG 2A. With scintillating dances, melodious songs, thought provoking skits and video presentations, the students expressed their love and gratitude to their mothers. A unique dance performance, ‘Emotions of a Mother,’ by the dance teachers, Ms. Jija, Ms. Sruthy Binu, and Ms. Shakhila touched the hearts of all present and added elegance to the programme. 

An array of offstage activities was also held as part of the celebration. Paper bouquets were made by the kindergarten section, cards with acrostic poems by grades 1 and 2, ‘Thank you Note’ by grade 3 and cinquain poems by grade 4.  The activities were designed to create awareness among the students on the importance and significance of mothers in their lives and to acknowledge their contribution. ‘Mamtha’ highlighted the selfless sacrifice mothers make in shaping the young minds which in turn, lays the foundation for a convivial society.
