ICSK KHAITAN HOLDS KHOJ 2023 AWARD CEREMONY
“Creativity takes courage”, and Indian Community School Khaitan validates the statement by accomplishing the prominent KHOJ Art Fest Award Ceremony into one of the most celebrated events of the year. As an institution, ICSK advocates for excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities. Through KHOJ 2023, the school switched itself into a platform for students who have an unquenched thirst for art and also encouraged the clan to break the barriers and see the world in a new light. ICSK Khaitan took pride in organising the much-awaited event of the year, Award Ceremony for the mega talent hunt, KHOJ 2023, on 05 June at 4:30 pm. The monumental event aimed to honor the prodigies who emerged as winners in a colossal competition that took place both off and on stage from 10 to 13 May. The program commenced formally with a recital from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India. The traditional lighting of the lamp was done conjointly by the dignitaries. A soothing prayer song by Ms. Prerna Khandu Shirsath and a traditional invocation dance made the beginning auspicious.
The Principal Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath, welcomed the Chief Guest of the grand evening Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair, a Vocalist and Medical Oncologist, Kuwait and multifaceted personality who strives for social well-being and has been honoured with She the Change - Nari Udyami Award for being the driving force in women empowerment among the expats in Kuwait and in India. He then gave a congenial welcome to the august gathering comprising Mr. Amer Mohammed- Hon. Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Mr. Rajesh Nair, Principal of ICSK Amman, Mrs. Sherly Dennis, Director ISEK, Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal from ICSK Senior, Mrs. Sushmeeta Prakash, Vice Principal ICSK Khaitan and Mrs. Bhavyata Avasthi, Academic coordinator, ICSK Khaitan. The principal appreciated the teachers for encouraging the students to participate in more than three events. KHOJ 2023 had an account of 6325 participants with 479 award winners from various categories. Mr. Shirsath congratulated the participants and organisers for the strenuous effort in making the ceremony possible.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair addressed the gathering by stating her love for children and spoke about the importance and value of education in everyone’s life. She also cautioned the parents and teachers about the seriousness of ‘nomophobia’, a fear of being detached from mobile phones and asked the young generation to spend more time with nature to nurture the mind and body. Being a vocalist, she graced the gathering with her soulful singing.
The astounding cultural program had a plethora of wondrous shows namely dance, mono act, rhetoric speech, songs and fusion of instrumental music. Each and every talent show was spectacular as it manifested the efforts taken by the students, which made the event delightful for the eyes and the ears. The audience enjoyed and encouraged all the performances with enthusiasm and applauded the winners with sheer joy and love. The event coordinators were called upon and praised for their zealous passion towards supporting the dreams of the students in the art fest. The venue was over the moon with all its celebrations and gala events which marked its conclusion with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Sushmeeta Prakash, Vice Principal ICSK Khaitan. She thanked the almighty for the blessings that bestowed for the prosperity of the program and thanked the principal for being the driving force, felicitated the program committee and teachers for their relentless effort and admired the students and parents for their participation and presence for the evening. The emcees for the day were Mrs Lubna, Mrs. Vishwa , Mrs. Suryaprabha, Jasim Abdulla Aboobacker and Anugraha Susan Varghese.
