Independence Day: A celebration of freedom at IES, Kuwait 

Hamara Bharat, Hum Se Hai Bharat! 

 

453A0037The spirit of patriotism and unity echoed through the campus of Indian Educational School, Kuwait as students and staff came together to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of their motherland, India, with fervour and enthusiasm. The school's campus was adorned with the tricolor, and a sense of pride was palpable in the air. 

The event commenced with the guard of honour accorded to the Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar by the School Parliament, and BSS students. The hoisting of the national flag by the esteemed Principal evoked an aura of patriotism. The rendition of the national anthem stirred emotions, symbolizing the unity and diversity that India embodies.  

The program featured an array of performances that showcased the students' talents and reverence for the country. Patriotic songs, inspiring and scintillating dance performances both by the students and teachers paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and emphasized the importance of preserving the hard-fought freedom. The day was also marked special with the principal and the Senior Leadership Team planting a sapling to commemorate the 77th Independence Day celebration.  

The principal addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. He also emphasized the role of youth as the true wealth of our ancient land and appealed to the students to carry forward the values of unity, diversity, and progress. He further shed light on the pressing ideas shared by the Prime Minister of the country in his message to the nation. He expressed an ardent optimism that the country would reach its full potential envisaged by the great leaders of the nation. The principal expressed his gratitude to the Staff and students for presenting a well-organized program. He thanked the parents and all the stakeholders for being a part of the celebration.  

The Independence Day celebration at Indian Educational School, Kuwait coordinated by Mr. Nagarajan Murugesh from the Social Science Dept. was emceed by Evanna Sarah Brijesh and Afreen Muneer of Grade 9. The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the Headmistress of IES and the distribution of sweets. The celebrations of the day served as a reminder of the sacrifices that paved the way for India's independence and a call to uphold the principles of democracy, equality, and justice.
