Splendid Onam Celebrations at Bhavans
Onam is the harvest festival of Kerala, and it is celebrated with great zeal. Bhavans schools in Kuwait celebrated Onam in a grand and traditional manner on Saturday, 26th August 2023. On this day, the teaching and non-teaching fraternity of all the three schools of Bhavans in Kuwait - IES, SIS, & Jack and Jill came together to celebrate Onam.
An amazing floral carpet welcomed the Bhavans family. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East - Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, Mrs. Sudha Ramachandran, Principal Smart Indian School, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, and other distinguished dignitaries.
After the lighting of the lamp, the program started off with the Thiruvathira dance by teachers of both the schools. This was followed by musical performances that added to the festive mood of the day. Chairman Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, Principal Smart Indian School, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Vice Principals, and Academic Coordinators wished the staff members a joyous Onam.
The celebration continued with various events like Onam Kali, Flash Mob, Songs, and Games. All the teachers participated enthusiastically in the games and enjoyed the day. The celebrations came to an end with the onasadhya served on banana leaves in a traditional way.
