Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav Enthralls the Budding Linguists at IES 

453A0001Indian Educational School, Bhavans Kuwait hosted the "Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav" on Monday, December 11, 2023, which was a celebration of linguistic diversity and cultural richness of our Bharat Mahan! The celebration of the day was a testament to the rich tapestry of experiences that the school provides for respecting the traditions and values that weave us together to create a vibrant global society. The meticulously arranged events, spearheaded by the Departments of Hindi and Sanskrit, marked its inauguration with a vivid display of performances by students ranging from Grades 1 to 10, highlighting their linguistic prowess. 

The celebration started on a reverential note with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Aboo Zayan of Grade 8A.  Hindi prayer by the choir further enriched the sublime atmosphere. This was followed by Kuwait National Anthem which resonated in the auditorium, underscoring respect for the host country, and setting the mood for a divine start of events. The stage then came alive with the patriotic spirit of Desh Bhakti Geet, presented by Grade 5 students. Aditya Arun Kartha of grade 9 eloquently presented a Sanskrit poem, showcasing the rich cultural heritage embedded in the language. Shreyansh Avasthi of Grade 9B followed with a poignant Hindi poem, demonstrating linguistic and emotional depth. Palash of Grade 8B took the audience on a literary journey with a captivating biography presentation. 

The cultural extravaganza at the school continued with a vibrant display of linguistic finesse as students presented poems in a diverse array of languages. The ‘Multilingual Poems’ segment featured an impressive lineup of young talents. Serafin (8 B), Devang (5 B), and Sansa Mariya (1 B) eloquently recited Malayalam Poems, showcasing the rich language heritage of the region. In Gujarati, Mahika, Dhyanvi, and Ferris (4C) captivated the audience with their poetic expressions. Language of Telugu found representation through the heartfelt verses of Jeswanth Ayaan (2 A). Gracey Banerjee (8 B) took the stage with a Bengali Poem, adding a touch of East Indian cultural flair. Khadeeja (8 B) presented a Marathi Poem, while Sukruthi (8 B) contributed to the cultural mosaic with a Kannada Poem. The event celebrated not only the linguistic diversity but also the talent and enthusiasm of the students, making it a memorable cultural exchange. 

One of the highlights of the event was the rendition of Subrahmanyam Bharati's poem and its translation by Tanishk and Swaminathan of Grade 8B. Artistic flair was demonstrated by Tiya Susan of Grade 10, who crafted an image of Poet Subrahmanyam Bharati using glitter and glue while students recited their poems on stage. The emcees of the day were Ayesha and Fathima of grade 6. 

Vice Principals Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, Mr. Binoy Mathew, and Headmistress Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, graced the occasion, adding prestige to the celebration. Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, acknowledging the dedication and talent of both students and teachers.  

In conclusion, Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav was a resounding success, exemplifying the commitment and talent of the school community. As the curtains fell, leaving the audience with a sense of cultural unity, it was evident that the event had not only celebrated languages but had also woven a rich tapestry of cultural understanding and appreciation. This initiative will surely promote cultural diversity, ensuring that future generations inherit a world that values and appreciates the beauty of the multifaceted cultural heritage of our great nation.
