Premkumar, as he concluded his remarkable tenure in Indian Educational School, Kuwait. The farewell event, held at the Oriental Palace on December 17, 2023, was a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Premkumar's exceptional contributions to the field of education and his influential leadership at Bhavans Kuwait and the Principals’ fraternity. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Binumon, the secretary of Gulf Sahodaya. In his address Dr. Binumon said “today we are gathered here to bid farewell to our esteemed colleague, Mr. Premkumar. It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to a person who has played a significant role in shaping our lives and careers”. To reflect upon Mr. Premkumar's illustrious journey. Dr. Binumon highlighted the remarkable achievements of Mr. Premkumar, emphasizing on his vast knowledge and extensive experience in the field of education. He commended Mr. Premkumar's unwavering dedication and tireless efforts, which significantly impacted on his school and its students. Premkumar is the one and the only Principal who is actively involved in teaching grade 12 students and his students rave about his classes, and they regard and respect him, added Dr. Binumon. During his address, Dr. Binumon also emphasized that the prestigious CBSE award bestowed upon Mr. Premkumar, is a testament to his outstanding contributions in the field of education for four decades. As Chairman, Secretary, and Convener of Gulf Sahodaya  Mr. Premkumar played a vital role in advancing the principals' community, fostering collaboration, and driving excellence in educational practices. Dr. Binumon highlighted the significant role played by Premkumar in meeting the training needs of his teachers and the  knowledge his teachers gained from him.

Mrs. Asha Sharma, a respected senior Principal in the Gulf and principal of LoA, took the stage to share her admiration for Mr. Premkumar. She praised his exceptional oratory skills, which captivated audiences and inspired countless individuals. Mrs. Sharma also acknowledged Mr. Premkumar's meticulous planning of conferences, ensuring that every detail was carefully considered to create impactful and enriching experiences for the participants. Furthermore, she commended his excellent training skills, which empowered educators and students alike, leaving an indelible mark on the educational landscape in Kuwait. Mrs. Sharma was very particular in stressing the choice of words that Premkumar uses in his written and verbal communication. She also appreciated his promptness in replying to mails, his honesty, integrity and punctuality.

“As the Principal of New Indian School, I have had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Premkumar. Throughout our association, I have witnessed his simplicity, calm and composed demeanor, and remarkable leadership skills. He has been a guiding light, always steering me in the right direction and sharing his wide knowledge and expertise on CBSE-related matters. I am truly grateful for his mentorship and support,” said Mrs. Anita Sadananda... Fr. Bosco, in his heartfelt tribute, described Mr. Premkumar as a thorough gentleman who treats everyone with respect, be it a student, teacher, or parent. His composure and tranquility serve as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the importance of maintaining grace and dignity in all circumstances. Sr. Cristy Maria, Principal of Carmel School, fondly recalls her association with Mr. Premkumar. She praised him for his helpful nature and his unwavering support during times of need. “His guidance has been invaluable, and we are indebted to him for his selflessness “, she said. Mr. Arul Thomas, expressing his gratitude, acknowledged that his current position as Principal is a direct result of Mr. Premkumar's motivation and encouragement. He thanked him profusely for the unwavering support and guidance that paved the way for his success. Dr. Prashanth Vasudev, Principal of Gulf Indian School, commended Mr. Premkumar for his vast and in-depth knowledge on various subjects. His expertise has been instrumental in enriching the educational landscape and inspiring countless students and educators. “As we bid farewell to Mr. Premkumar, let us cherish the memories we have shared and the invaluable lessons we have learned from him”, said. Dr. Prashanth.  Mr. Anoop, principal of New Gulf Indian School narrated his first meeting with Premkumar and that has left a lasting impression of the greatness of Premkumar in the field of academia. Mr. Ravi Ayyanoli, the convener of the Kuwait Chapter spoke about his association with Premkumar who is his senior collegemate and a good friend. He thanked Premkumar for all the guidance and support he extended to him over the last decade.

Mrs. Sabahat Khan proposed a vote of thanks and she said, “his contributions to our professional growth and personal development will always be remembered and cherished. His unwavering commitment to excellence, passion for nurturing young minds, and tireless efforts to elevate educational standards will leave an enduring imprint on future generations. As Mr. Premkumar concludes his chapter at Bhavans Kuwait, his legacy will continue to resonate throughout the education sector in the Middle East.  On behalf of the entire principals’ community, I extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Mr. Premkumar as he embarks on a new chapter in his life. May his journey ahead be filled with joy, success, and fulfillment”.

Premkumar, in his reply thanked the principals for arranging a befitting farewell and taking time to attend the same. He also thanked Dr. Binumon for taking the lead role in making the event a memorable one for all. He thanked all the principals for supporting him during his tenure with Bhavans Kuwait and for making the conference under his secretaryship in 2017-18 a mega event. He said, he has no regrets in taking this decision and he is leaving with only fond memories.  Premkumar concluded by saying that today he feels like  “Dobbin” the horse in  Alfred Noyes’s poem “ The Dobbin”. 

Premkumar was presented with a memento by Fr. Bosco and a valuable gift by Mrs. Asha Sharma. on behalf of all the principals.

The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch hosted by the principals in honor of their dear colleague Premkumar.
