THE INDIAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL KUWAIT- AMMAN HOLDS THE SCHOOL SENATE INVESTITURE CEREMONY

WhatsApp Image 2024 04 28 at 12.16.58 1 11zonThe Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman Branch conducted the prestigious and solemn school senate investiture ceremony on 25th April 2024. It is an occasion of supreme importance wherein the chosen student leaders are duly sworn in. It also establishes the credence and confidence the school reposes in the newly elected school senate. It is the day when the elected students don the mantle of leadership and pledge to perform their duties to the best of their abilities through their personal and collective initiative and vow to foster team spirit.

Of the 60 Students who filed their nomination, the names of the 55 eligible candidates were released on April 1st 2024. Meet the Candidate and Election Campaign were held on 3rd and 7th April respectively wherein the contestants canvassed enthusiastically. Keeping up with the times, the elections were held online on 7th April. 16 emerged winners forming the core school senate.

The chief guest of the event was Mr. Manas Raj Patel, First Secretary, Community Welfare & Labour, Indian Embassy, Kuwait. He has occupied many important positions in the Indian Foreign Service in various countries. He inaugurated the ceremony by handing over the school and house flags to the senate elects.

Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair delivered the welcome address and extended a hearty welcome to the chief guest and all present. He felicitated the chief guest by presenting a bouquet and memento. He praised the democratic process of election, congratulated the newly elected school senate and reminded them of the obligations and responsibilities towards the school and the student body they represent. He advised them to work with confidence, conviction and commitment.

The senate advisor Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar commended the winners and shed light on the electoral process.

In his address, the chief guest Mr. Manas Raj Patel, congratulated the newly elected senate. He commenced his motivational and thought-provoking speech, by highlighting that character is the greatest virtue. He inspired the students to celebrate their failures as they celebrate success as failures are a source of valuable lesson to build on. He asked them to be true and respectful to the teachers, treat everyone equally, dream big, keep updating themselves and always be enthusiastic. He shared fond memories of being elected as the leader during his college days. Being a man of exceptional qualification and holding leadership positions both at work and in the society, his speech was an inspirational take away for all present.

The highlight of the programme was the investiture of the senate. The chief guest Mr. Manas Raj Patel presented the badges for the senate advisor and the house mentors. He also pinned the badges for the school senate. The principal Mr. Rajesh Nair administered the oath to the school senate and the prefects of all the classes. The President of the Student Senate, Arash Abidi Husain conveyed his gratitude to everyone present and delivered the acceptance speech on behalf of all the senate members. He thanked the students and promised that he and the other members would definitely heed to everyone’s problems and work towards the progress of the school. This was followed by a video presentation on “Gratitude and Promises” by them.

The vote of thanks was rendered by the Vice Principal, Dr. Mary Isaac. She conveyed her heartfelt thanks to the esteemed chief guest Mr. Manas Raj Patel, Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair parents, Senate Advisor Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar, Mentors, teaching and non-teaching staff, and the students. She complimented the senate and also reminded them to carry out theillr responsibilities with diligence, dedication and devotion.

The audience were entertained with a beautiful, elegant and graceful dance and a mesmerising and melodious song. It was an awesome feast to both the eyes and ears.
