Empowering Leadership: A Glance at the Investiture Ceremony at Bhavans Smart Indian School
A leader knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. Smart Indian School organised the Investiture Ceremony to bestow the responsibilities on the newly elected members of its students’ council for the academic year 2024-25. It was held with great pomp and dignity at the school auditorium on 12th May 2024 to encourage and kindle leadership qualities in our young prodigies. The ceremony started with the guard of honour by the BSS cadets to the Chief Guest, Mr. Anthony Skinner, Sponsor Mr. Ali Judiyan Al Bhighili, Guests of Honour Dr. Bassam Suhaibar and Ms. Suchitra Sen, Mr. Anand Victor, Principal of IES, Mr. Mahesh Iyer Principal of Smart Indian School, Ms. Anselma Tessy Senior Vice Principal Bhavans Kuwait, Admin Manager Ms. Amira Bendary and other distinguished dignitaries and further commenced with the Kuwait national anthem and recital of verses from the Holy Quran. The melodious prayer song and Bhavans anthem rendered by the school choir heightened the solemn spirit of the occasion. A short video of the glimpses of the investiture ceremonies of yesteryears took the audience a trip down memory lane.
The newly formed Council – Head Boy, Aadhil Sadhik and Head Girl, Rayna Liza Christy, along with Sports Captains, House Captains, Vice House Captains and Prefects were honoured by dignitaries who congratulated the members of the student council and advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. Instilling in them the duties and responsibilities of a leader the guests along with the Principal adorned the sashes and pinned the badges. Elected members took oath to hold the school motto which was led by the Principal of Smart Indian School and acceptance speech was delivered by Head Boy and Head Girl. The newly elected Student Council members were brimming with confidence to shoulder their newly assigned duties to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and diligence.
It’s rightly said that ‘leaders are not born, they are made’. The CBSE toppers of the academic year 2022-23, proficiency holders, all-rounders, Math Wizard winners, Scholar Badge holders, Scholarship winners and NMO winners were appreciated with medals and certificates. BSS cadets who had completed the junior level BSS programme during the academic year 2023-24 under the authority of the Bhavans Service scheme-Bhavans Middle East were also given certificates of completion.
Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, Mr. N. K. Ramchandran Menon, inspired the audience by his words of wisdom. The guests of Honour and Chief Guests also motivated the students with their enlightening words, helping them make their vision clear for achieving their goals by performing their duties with full dedication.
Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer also appreciated them and advised them to be role models and work for the benefit of the students. He also extended a supporting hand to the student council for the smooth running of the school. Ms. Anselma Tessy, the Senior Vice Principal—Bhavans Kuwait, Mr. Santhosh Chungath, Academic Coordinator- Bhavans Kuwait, Ms. Albin Daisy-Vice Principal, Ms. Bhavitha Bright – Vice Principal-Cambridge, Ms. Rekha Jaypal – K. G. Coordinator, Ms. Thushara Sanjeev Academic Coordinator, Parents and many other guests were also present in the meeting. The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks, followed by the Indian national anthem.
