31st Foundation Day Celebration: A Testament to Enduring Excellence
Gulf Indian School was abuzz with euphoria and triumph as it commemorated its 31st Foundation Day on 19 September 2024, with a grand and spectacular celebration.
The presence of Mr Sreekumar Pillai, Manager of Gulf Indian School, as the Chief Guest, added grace to the celebration of the 31st Foundation Day. The event was made even more special with the presence of the special guests, Mrs. Annamma Lucy Cherian, Principal, Indian Public School, Mrs. Elizabeth Joseph, Principal, United Indian International School, Sister Saritha Monteiro, Principal, Carmel School, Sister Maria Lekha, Vice Principal, Carmel School, Mr. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Principal, New Gulf Indian School, Mrs. Ambika Sreekumar, Vice Principal, New Gulf Indian School, parents, former students and well- wishers.
The significant highlight of the ceremony was the inauguration of School’s Anthem, penned by the Principal Dr. Prashant Vasudev, which embodies the institution’s values and mission. Every verse of the anthem echoes a shared sense of purpose, reminding students of their collective responsibility to uphold the school’s legacy. The anthem was sung with fervour by the school choir.
Head Boy, Mufaddal Idress delivered an eloquent welcome address, inaugurating the event with elegance and poise. He warmly acknowledged the presence of esteemed guests, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, parents, and well- wishers, expressing gratitude for their significant roles in the institution's growth and success.
"Reflections on a Remarkable Year," a poignant PowerPoint presentation, chronicled the school's remarkable achievements and milestones. Principal Dr. Prashant Vasudev then addressed the gathering, his voice filled with pride and affection. He took the audience on a nostalgic journey, revisiting the institution's defining moments and cherished memories that have contributed to its rich legacy.
The event resonated with commendation as the school honoured its distinguished alumni for their remarkable achievements across various fields. Students were conferred proficiency prizes for their outstanding academic achievements in various subjects, demonstrating exceptional scholarship. In addition, to imbibe values and build character in young minds, children were awarded the "Be Prasang Be Joyous" awards in various categories, recognizing unique qualities essential for building a better nation. Special awards were also presented in fields such as Sports, Intellectual Excellence, and Artistic Achievement.
Enhancing the event's elegance, the special guest, Mr. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Principal, New Gulf Indian School, emphasised the transformative power of hard work, perseverance, and determination. Mrs. Annamma Lucy Cherian, Principal, Indian Public School, enthralled the audience, offering valuable guidance and motivation.
The evening unfolded with a spectacular display of cultural performances, showcasing the students' impressive artistic talents. Mesmerizing dances and captivating musical renditions left the audience in awe. This vibrant cultural extravaganza epitomized the school's dedication to fostering holistic education.
As the day drew to a close, School Head Girl Vrinda Vinuraj delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts that made the 31st Foundation Day celebration a triumphant success.
