Bhavans SIS organizes an informative session on ‘Careers in Commerce’ for its 10th grade students

Image 10Bhavans Smart Indian School Kuwait with the intention to support students in building a better career planning and to be well informed of the various possibilities, invited Ms. Reanne Pinto a semi-senior auditor working in Kuwait to address grade 10 students related to the various career options available while choosing commerce as a subject in senior secondary on the 22nd of October 2024. The session focused in highlighting the conventional as well as new age professions related to commerce.

Ms. Reanne’s session commenced with a positive note that careers in commerce is undergoing a sea change both in terms of options and scope and choosing commerce as a discipline has become a sought after and popular option amongst students. She detailed the subjects related to Commerce like Economics, Accountancy, Informatics Practices, Applied Mathematics and Business Studies. She highlighted the various career options that are open for students after commerce stream specifically, Chartered Accountancy, Business Management, Cost & Works Accountancy, Company Secretary, Actuarial Science, Chartered Financial Analyst etc.

Moreover, Ms. Reanne based on her experience shared valuable points to students namely the need to make informed decisions, to keep oneself updated, watch good career related content, maintain health networks and also to focus on extra-curricular activities. Also, the need to do alongside courses to sharpen one’s academic skill to be at par with the majority in this competitive world was highlighted.

The session concluded with an inquisitive Q & A round in which the resource person explained the questions raised by the students to the best of their satisfaction. As a mark of appreciation and recognition for her valuable time in helping students with points to bear in mind while choosing commerce as a career, Ms. Reanne was felicitated with a memento and a thankful note by the SLT.
