The Annual Sports Day 2024 at Bhavans Smart Indian School was an incredible showcase of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship, celebrated on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The event aimed to inspire students to maintain physical fitness, develop sportsmanship, build mental and physical toughness, and foster a strong school spirit.
The day began with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran, seeking blessings for the success of the event. The gracious presence of the Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer, along with esteemed dignitaries marked the event's significance.
Following the hoisting of the national flag of Kuwait, the school head boy extended a warm welcome. The highlight of the opening was the athletic parade, with contingents led by the Supreme Council and the four houses of SIS—Sanskriti, Satya, Seva, and Tapas—marching with precision and coordination. A symbolic torch run by students underscored the themes of cooperation and unity.
The Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, formally declared the Sports Meet 2024 open, paving the way for students from all grades to showcase their athletic abilities in various events. The first round of prize distribution recognized early winners, reinforcing the values of preparation and perseverance.
The closing ceremony was a grand finale, starting with the Guard of Honor presented by the BSS Cadets to the Chief Guest, Mr. Venkatakrishnan Nurani, a respected member of the Parents Focus Group. A delightful drill display by students from Grades 1 to 4 captured everyone’s hearts, highlighting the energy and joy of childhood.
The prize distribution ceremony saw winners ascending the victory stand to receive their accolades, culminating in the presentation of individual and overall championship trophies. The Chief Guest's motivational speech resonated with the students, inspiring them to strive for excellence in both academics and sports.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Physical Education Department for their exceptional efforts in organizing a successful and memorable event.
